About the role:
The Quality and Compliance Manager will ensure that products sold by Unybrands meet all Legal and Safety requirements, are fit for purpose and meet customer expectations. They will set up Quality and Compliance processes with each factory enabling a reduction in quality and compliance related returns and negative quality reviews.
Responsibilities include - but not limited to:
- Ensure that the factory has a robust quality management system in place.
- Ensure that the factory has the correct structure and expertise to maintain high quality levels.
- Create a transparent database of raw materials and componentry for each product type.
- Conduct periodic internal reviews and audits to ensure that quality and compliance procedures are followed.
- Conduct investigations to discover the root cause of quality problems when they arise.
- Develop production inspection processes to ensure that issues are caught at the beginning of the manufacturing process.
- Be the point of contact for 3rd party inspection agents.
- Identify quality rejection rates and determine improvement opportunities.
- Develop and refine final inspection criteria with the 3rd party inspection agents.
- Identify quality and compliance issues that require follow-up or investigation.
- Publish written policies and procedures related to quality and compliance activities.
- Ensure appropriate and relevant documentation and record keeping is adopted to monitor quality and compliance
- Assess product, compliance and operational risks and develop risk management strategies.
- Review customer complaints and take the appropriate steps to resolve and prevent future issues.
- Work with NPD and CS team in investigating any negative customer reviews or high refunds.
- Facilitate an audit program for quality assurance, ethical and environmental compliance.
- Control and maintenance of our existing Quality Management System (ISO 9001).
- Review or modify policies or operating guidelines to comply with changes to legal regulations.
A successful team member will have:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role, managing the quality assurance aspects of complex, cross functional products.
- Must have experience in a broad cross section of retail products including electronics.
- Effective communication within team and with stakeholders
- Computer literate & experienced in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent organizational skills including record keeping, establishing and using effective administrative systems.
