We built Tempus to collect, structure, and organize data from disparate sources to power innovation and discovery. And now we are looking for a Senior Alliance Manager to join our rapidly growing Life Sciences team. This role is key to ensuring success and delivering value across our key partnerships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies across all Tempus product and service lines.

Senior Alliance Manager - Life Sciences

The Senior Alliance Manager is responsible for cultivating and growing Tempus partnerships with life science companies to support them in advancing their research and clinical programs using Tempus products. The Alliance Management professional is dedicated to ensuring the customer’s voice is always at the forefront of how Tempus can add value to the partner’s work and, in the process, speed the delivery of care to patients.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for life sciences collaborations, ensuring satisfaction across a portfolio of products and projects to drive value for customers 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders in client organizations through regular engagement, including in-person meetings
  • Plan and lead meetings with partner organizations, including steering committees, strategic business reviews, progress updates, etc.
  • Develop a deep understanding of collaboration agreements and work with internal teams to ensure precise execution, tracking milestones, deliverables, and performance metrics
  • Organize and oversee data provisioning operations for clients in collaboration with internal teams, proactively identifying risks and resolving issues
  • Conduct regular health checks on accounts, monitoring the status of active projects and proposals to ensure alignment and progress
  • Facilitate coordination between Tempus' subject matter experts, Business Development, and other internal teams as appropriate to align on strategic initiatives and ensure all stakeholders are engaged appropriately to ensure a collaboration’s success
  • Serve as the champion for the strategic intent of the partnership, identifying and pursuing opportunities to expand the collaboration
  • Act as the point of escalation internally and externally, resolving issues and conflicts, and providing strategic recommendations for solutions
  • Conduct in-depth research on partner organizations, including structure, strategy, pipeline, and decision-making processes to maximize partnership success
  • Stay updated on relevant M&A activities, regulatory decisions, and product approvals/denials to anticipate partner needs
  • Travel approximately 10% of working time, domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualifications

  • Entrepreneurial business approach; thrives in a high growth, rapidly evolving business environment
  • Proactive mindset that can operationalize implementable solutions, and can help move both internal and external stakeholders to quickly solve problems
  • Understanding of translational research and discovery and clinical development at pharmaceutical companies
  • Advanced understanding of biology and therapeutic interventions in Oncology
  • Proven ability to navigate multi-faceted client organizations with success
  • Exceptional account management, articulation of issues and an ability to navigate a wide range of stakeholders to solve problems

Preferred Experience

  • Minimum 2+ years in data partnerships/alliance management/client service/customer success/serving Life Sciences sector (Pharma / Biotech)
  • Preferably 3+ years working with companies who serviced Life Sciences companies in Research & Development and/or Real Word Data
  • Bachelor degree in a Science or Business discipline; Advanced degree (MD, PhD, or Healthcare certification) desired
