Tempus is seeking an experienced and dynamic Financial Applications Architect Senior Manager to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of the financial systems architecture and applications. As the Financial Applications Architect Senior Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness of our financial operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, drive process improvements, and leverage technology to support the company's financial goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

  1. System Design & Architecture:
    • Lead the design, and maintenance of financial systems, including accounting software, reporting tools, and budgeting platforms.
    • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Tempus' financial processes and requirements to optimize system functionality and integration.
    • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies to recommend and implement innovative solutions.
    • Create detailed system design specifications and documentation
  1. System Integration and Management:
    • Collaborate with Engineering, finance, and other relevant teams to define system requirements and ensure seamless implementation of new financial technologies.
    • Drive process improvements to streamline workflows, enhance data accuracy, and accelerate reporting cycles.
    • Manage system updates, enhancements, and integrations, collaborating with IT and external vendors as needed.
  1. Data Management and Reporting:
    • Oversee the accuracy and integrity of financial data in systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards.
    • Develop and produce regular financial reports, dashboards, and analyses to support strategic decision-making by senior leadership.
    • Provide insights into financial performance and trends, identifying opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth.
  1. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with finance, engineering, operations, and other teams to understand their needs and align financial systems with overall business objectives.
    • Act as a liaison between finance and engineering teams to bridge communication gaps 
  1. Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure financial systems and processes adhere to industry regulations, internal controls, and data security standards.
    • Identify and address potential risks related to financial data integrity, system vulnerabilities, and process inefficiencies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in financial systems management, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial software, ERPs, reporting tools, and budgeting platforms. Familiarity with Netsuite a plus.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing and optimizing financial systems to support business operations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive change initiatives.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA, CFA, PMP) are a plus.
