We are looking for a highly motivated and capable senior bioinformatics scientist with extensive experience and interest in developing cutting edge assays and algorithms in the oncology (MRD) space.
Responsibilities:
- Develop assays, algorithms, machine learning and statistical models to detect oncology related biomarkers from cell free next-generation sequencing (NGS) data
- Design and conduct analyses applying deep genomic and epigenomic knowledge to derive key insights from large multi-modal datasets
- Design and execute experiments to characterize performance and support various regulatory submissions.
- Produce high quality and detailed documentation for all projects.
- Communicate results with outside scientific teams as well as product and bioinformatics leadership.
- Lead, mentor and/or train other scientists and engineers
Qualifications:
- Must have completed a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Cancer Biology, Genetics, Immunology, Molecular Biology, or Computer Science
- At least 5 years of postdoc or industry experience
- Computational skills using Python and/or R
- Proven experience in developing NGS pipelines using contemporary tools for processing and analyzing NGS data (including epigenetics, DNA, RNA) within a clinical environment.
- In-depth knowledge of creating statistical models and developing predictive or prognostic algorithms
- Demonstrated effective communication and presentation skills
- Self-driven and works well in interdisciplinary teams
