We are looking for an exceptional postdoctoral fellow to study and advance precision oncology in colorectal cancer (CRC) using one of the world’s largest clinicogenomic databases. The successful candidate will apply computational methods to real-world patient data, comprising genomic, transcriptomic, histopathological, and/or clinical data, to improve our understanding of CRC and advance the application of precision medicine to improve patient outcomes. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and collaborative computational biology group, and develop independent research projects tackling challenging problems in genomic-guided medicine.
Tempus, in partnership with the Fight Colorectal Cancer (Fight CRC), created the Fight CRC Postdoctoral Fellowship in Colorectal Cancer to encourage and further the careers of postdoctoral fellows who are conducting cutting-edge clinicogenomic cancer research, specifically in colorectal cancer. Embedded within Tempus as on onsite researcher, the postdoctoral fellow will have direct access to over 150k de-identified samples with genomic and clinical data, a large organoid repository with genomic and pharmacological screening data, a huge computational environment, and mentorship and collaboration from clinicians, molecular biologists, and data scientists.
Duration: 2-3 years
Requirements:
- PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics or related field OR PhD and/or MD with extensive experience in clinical & translational cancer research
- Demonstrated record of innovative scientific accomplishments as evidenced by at least one first-author or co-first author key paper in a top journal
- Demonstrated ability to design and execute studies bridging molecular and clinical cancer data
- Enjoy working in a collaborative environment across departments
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficient in R, Python or other analytical programming language OR desire to acquire analytical skills and link with clinical/translational domain knowledge
