The primary role of the Maintenance Technician I in the Engineering Department is to assist with maintenance and repairs on all heating, air purifying and air conditioning systems, and mechanical systems throughout the property. Core duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: cleaning filters, screens, cooling tower, ice machines, etc., inspecting fuses, hoses, gauges, nitrate and azole levels, etc., maintaining proper water levels, and assisting with all fire and safety Inspections. The Maintenance Technician reports to the Engineering Manager or the Director of Engineering. This position will cover two overnight shifts (10:00pm to 6:30am); and three swing shifts (2:30pm to 11:00pm).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Cooling Tower
- Inspect tube bundle and make sure jets are working properly
- Clean and mop area
- Clean internal filter screen on jet pump
- Clean out strainers on corrosion racks
- Clean strainer on circulation pump at lakes filter
- Wash filter media at tower intake
- Calibrate pulse pure system and controller on tower
Main House
- Clean all condenser and evaporation coils
- Check pressures in condensers to confirm superheat and sub cooling are within proper specifications
- Replace damaged parts, e.g., swollen capacitors, pitted contractors, bad fan motors
- Check compressors, pressure controls and relays for walk-In refrigerator
- Remove leaves from roof drains
- Check all VAV units and air handlers at South Wing
Well Pump
- Clean pump and pad
- Adjust drip feeder
- Tighten lugs on electrical pad area
- Confirm radio controller Is working properly
Other Areas
- Wash all evaporator and condenser coils on all units
- Inspect all contactors, capacitors, and fan motors; replace as needed
- Check superheat and sub cool of HVAC units and adjust as necessary
- Vacuum filter grills and returns
- Confirm zone boards and actuators are working properly
- Check thermostats and adjust as necessary
- Vacuum and clean air handler closets
- Confirm water heaters are lit and circulation pump is functioning
- Change all HVAC filters around property
- Change gear oil in pumps
- Clean cooling tower basin and pumps, and all condensers
- Assist with all mechanical repairs
- Assist with fire inspections
- Perform all job duties in a safe manner and abide by all safety policies and procedures
- Adhere to all company and departmental policies and guidelines
- Report any hazards, Injuries, and safety concerns to supervisor immediately
- Perform other duties and tasks as requested by supervisor
- Demonstrate warmth and sincerity in all interactions
- Maintain a professional and welcoming demeanor in both verbal and nonverbal communication
- Take ownership of all guest requests and be initiative-taking in ensuring resolution as needed
- Always maintain impeccable grooming and personal hygiene and wear uniform as directed
- Uphold Sensei values in daily practices
- Successfully complete all training and certifications needed for the position
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of all guests
- Report all faulty equipment, supply needs, maintenance needs, safety hazards, injuries, and other concerns immediately to your supervisor

- Due to the intimate nature of the resort with limited number of guests on property, must assist teams laterally across all departments to lead a seamless guest flow throughout the different resort spaces.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Licenses/Certifications
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification preferred/a plus.
- Must possess a valid California driver’s license and an acceptable MVR (Moving Vehicle Record)
