About this Role
As Semafor’s Marketing Manager — Newsletter Growth, you will play a key role on the audience development team, tasked with building and executing audience growth strategies for Semafor Newsletters. This role is full-time, permanent position, reporting to our Head of Consumer Marketing. This position is based in New York City, with a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week in office. Candidates must be willing to work flexible hours and travel on an as-needed basis.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop a clear understanding of Semafor’s target audience.
  • Develop and execute data-driven audience growth strategies for Semafor Newsletters and websites. Including but not limited to:
  • Lead the marketing swaps program with other newsletters, podcasts and websites.
  • Manage the development, measurement and optimization of marketing landing pages to optimize audience conversion.
  • Lead an internal cross-promotion strategy for Semafor’s newsletter editions.
  • Manage and measure lifecycle marketing campaigns to increase consumption and engagement.
  • Manage and measure audience referral campaigns.
  • Support the team in execution of paid marketing experiments.
  • Measure and report on key audience metrics for reporting and optimization

 

What makes you qualified:

  • Experience developing audiences for a newsroom or premium media organization
  • High comfort level with data and measurement of marketing activities.
  • Analytical and strategic thinker
  • Experience running tests to optimize marketing and user experience initiatives
  • Familiarity with email reporting and analysis
  • Ability to clearly articulate and present data analysis to a cross-sector of leadership stakeholders across Semafor
  • 3+ years of experience in audience development and marketing

Compensation:
The base salary for this position at the time of posting will range from $80,000.00 - $100,000.00. Individual compensation varies based on job related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility, and qualifications.
