Purpose of the role

Pico is currently seeking candidates for our corporate counsel role based in our New York office. Successful candidates will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to internal clients on a variety of legal matters, including day-to-day commercial and corporate generalist work in a fast paced, rapidly developing and expanding technology company.

 

Responsibilities and duties (include but not limited to)

  • Review, draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements with sophisticated clients, vendors and third parties.
  • Create, maintain and improve templates for Pico contracts (e.g. Master Services Agreement, service orders, NDAs, etc.)
  • Stay informed on current and to-be-released company products to ensure appropriate product descriptions and legal terms are included in contracts
  • Identify risks and provide legal counsel to internal clients and colleagues
  • Other projects as needed (examples include: transactional work, corporate governance, HR legal support)

 

Education, Skills, and background

  • Attorney in good standing with a law degree from a well-regarded law school
  • 4+ years relevant experience in corporate/commercial practice of US law firm and/or in-house
  • Experience drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and time management skills
  • Able to act both collaboratively and autonomously with confidence in making decisions based on accurate and timely interpretation of terms and conditions
  • Intelligent and able to learn a new business quickly with a positive attitude coupled with a sense of commitment
  • Strong work ethic, comfortable working in an entrepreneurial organization where cooperating with others and being a team member is essential
  • Highest standards of ethics and integrity
  • A positive personality that excels at identifying issues and finding constructive solutions
  • Sound, practical business judgment and common sense
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with the team and business clients cooperatively and efficiently
  • Experience in the financial markets and/or technology helpful, but not required
  • Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal and compliance matters
  • Attention to detail and comfort working with deadlines. Very hands-on, roll up your sleeves atmosphere

 

Working Arrangements 

This is an office-based position with some work from home flexibility.  Though travel may be required from time to time, it is not expected to be regular or frequent. The role holder will be expected to work the necessary hours required for the performance of this role (recognizing that it involves multiple jurisdictions / geographies including but not limited to EMEA, AMRS and APAC).

Full compensation packages are based on candidate experience and relevant certification.

$175,000$215,000 USD
