Managing Director, Pendo APAC

Pendo is growing and expanding our global operations!  After starting in the USA seven years ago, Pendo now has offices in the UK, Israel, and is opening Japan on 01-November.  We’re expanding that to the APAC region and looking to hire a leader in Sydney, Australia.  

Responsibilities (what you’ll do):

  • Open Pendo's go-to market operations presence in APAC
  • Hire the team to include sales, sales engineers, customer success, SDR, marketing to achieve expansion goals
  • Provide direction and focus to the team on how to acquire new logos and expand existing accounts
  • Define sales strategy and GTM plans
  • Help define the digital and field event marketing plans for ANZ region
  • Hire and train our customer success and delivery organizations to provide world class service to our customers
  • Collaborate with USA based marketing, sales, pro services, customer success, and finance teams to define Pendo best practices in the APAC market
  • Adopt Pendo sales & customer journey methodology across the local team and apply to our customer base
  • Ability to attract top talent to join our team
  • Speak at and represent Pendo at industry events
  • Collaborate with Managing Director of Japan on planning, strategies in the region
  • Create the culture of Pendo Australia

Qualifications (what you have): 

  • 10+ years of on quota success with 7 of those years managing SaaS teams, with emphasis on leaders who have managed multi-functions
  • History of managing teams selling to both SMB/transactional deals as well as large/enterprise accounts & closing >$1M ARR agreements
  • Have previously worked in a USA based cloud organization; preferably someone who has opened up a remote office previously
  • Skilled in solution sales methodologies and have worked with value selling/ROI teams & tools (MEDDPICC methodology a plus)
  • Prior ownership of acquiring new logos as well as expanding existing accounts
  • Experience working collaboratively with Professional Services/3rd party implementation partners
  • Work independently in making decisions and at same time have strong communication skills
  • Solid skill-set in navigating legal, security, and procurement organizations
  • Consistency -- need to show stability in roles/companies and steady earnings
  • Solid references that talk to ability to work well across internal functions and use available resources proactively
  • Works well across teams -- role will interact with marketing, PS, Customer Success, and Product teams in the USA frequently
  • A builder -- the right candidate needs to have started/built up teams from an early stage
  • Talent magnet -- demonstrated history of hiring top talent and working with them at successive companies
  • Personal presence and ability to own the room with prospects/customers
  • Experience selling to product teams a plus
  • Beneficial if you are fluent in non-English languages
  • University degree required
