We are currently seeking to add an Environmental Scientist/Health and Safety Technician to our dynamic team in Bend, Oregon.
- Salary: $26 - $32 hourly

This position will be cross trained in Industrial Hygiene and Environmental Service disciplines through job shadowing and certification courses. The role is field-intensive and supports a broad range of projects. These projects reflect PBS’ core practices in environmental compliance, environmental due diligence, contaminated site assessments, and industrial hygiene/health and safety.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or related field
- 2 - 5 years of industry experience
- Exceptional critical thinking, planning, execution, and field documentation
- Detail-oriented with a strong ability to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to learn quickly
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Flexibility to travel throughout the Pacific Northwest
- Authorized to work in the US
- Valid driver’s license
Desirable Qualifications
- 40-hour HAZWOPER with current 8-hour refresher certification
- Experience in environmental compliance, environmental site assessments, or site characterization projects
- AHERA Asbestos Inspector Certification
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Multi-media sampling including, but not limited to air/vapor, groundwater, stormwater, and soils/sediments
- Phase I and Phase II Site Assessments
- Industrial and environmental compliance monitoring
- Project oversight for remediation, development, or hazardous material abatement projects
- Indoor Air Quality Evaluations
- Hazardous building materials inspection and sampling
- Analysis and review of field data
- Technical report preparation
