- Salary: $125,000 - $140,000 annually

PBS is seeking a highly motivated senior civil engineer with experience in leading civil engineering design projects and providing direction to civil design teams. This position would serve various public and private clients within PBS’s existing portfolio and provide opportunities for highly motivated candidates to develop new client relationships. Our teams specialize in delivering multi-disciplinary projects that incorporate the full breadth of PBS services and strategic subconsultant partners. This is an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment and be supported by a full suite of engineering and environmental service lines.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10+ years' experience as a consulting engineer providing design and project management of local agency or state transportation projects
- A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and professional registration (P.E) in Washington and/or Oregon
- A solid understanding of civil design and construction standards, and environmental conditions / constraints.
- A proven history of meeting project timelines and budgets.
- Demonstrated skills developing relationships with local municipalities and utilities
- Familiarity with local code requirements
- Ability to develop creative engineering solutions to address project constraints
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, staff and management.
- Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation InRoads, HyrdoCAD, WWHM2012
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and administer medium to large transportation infrastructure projects.
- Provide leadership in the design of efficient and constructable civil projects.
- Estimate and budget labor hours for design projects; review job costing reports and take corrective action, as necessary.
- Establish and maintain client relationships; ensure client satisfaction and ensure that client objectives are met.
- Mentor young design professionals.
- Participate in business development opportunities.
- Participate in professional organizations and functions.
Examples of Projects You May Lead Include:
- Vancouver Heights Tower Mall Redevelopment
- 35-acre multi-phased urban redevelopment project that is focused on providing employment and affordable housing in the urban core of Vancouver, Washington. The project includes major signalized intersection improvements, two new roundabouts, and two miles of new collector roadways and a linear parkway and community plaza. PBS is providing engineering support for eight different project phases to prepare the site for private development investments.
- Broadmoor Redevelopment
- PBS is assisting the City of Pasco to best use their available Tax Increment Financing to develop several miles of arterial roadways, five signalized intersections, and a multilane roundabout. The goal of this project is to activate the mixed use, multi-modal Broadmoor development area for private development investments. Thus, steering the needed city expansion in a way that allows for planned community tailored to cohesive short term buildout.
