THE POSITION 

The Sr. Manager of Media Partnerships will be the primary driver for the growth of the affiliate marketing program. In this capacity, he/she will be responsible for aggressively growing the channel’s share of media sources. He/she will work closely with the Product Marketing & Media Partnerships teams to develop an overall strategy, build and monitor forecasts, develop new partnerships, drive engagement of existing relationships, and generally scale the channel. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a passion for media management, finding creative solutions and doing great work. You should have a strong background in managing affiliate insurance programs (5+ years). This person will act as the primary liaison with the Affiliate Network and be the point person for direct affiliate partnerships.

  • In addition to being an aggressive hunter, this person will also need to be both qualitative and quantitative in approach and will be performing both A/B program testing and optimization as well as drive more complex mutlivariate testing scenarios.
  • The Manager will work closely with the analytics team as well as the Financial/forecast team.
  • Lead strategic partner recruitment.
  • Delivering results for the client by bringing fresh out-of-the-box ideas, effectively managing the team’s deliverable on key client objectives, and monitoring performance
  • Dramatically increase the number and quality of affiliates through both networks and preferably direct relationships Day-to-day interaction with the affiliate account manager, focusing on building and cultivating strong, trusted relationships with key contacts at both affiliate networks and direct partners.
  • Analyze and resolve diverse, complex technical issues via an in-depth knowledge of company's products, services, industry, and technical interfaces.
  • Formulate and test new tactics.
  • Will be primary contact on tech issues with the technical teams, and although will not be required to be technical, must act like a business analyst to be able to help the technical team resolve business issues.
  • Process all requested and necessary reports, updates, adjustments and ad hoc requests on-time and error free.
  • Analyze metrics for revenue and margin opportunities, recommend changes to the relationships based on the results.
  • Will drive sequential and one-off testing, analysis and optimization – and put test results into action.
  • Must be detail oriented, timely, and have very good follow-through.

Basic Experience / Training / Education:

  • 2-5 years in marketing in online marketing function at an online retail or lead generation company
  • Project and budget management experience
  • Previous experience in affiliate insurance marketing preferred.

Preferred Experience/Training/Education:

  • 5+ years’ experience within the affiliate industry managing insurance traffic.
  • Experience working across multiple markets.
  • Experience managing direct reports.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical and comprehension skills.
  • Should demonstrate very strong analytic thinking with ability to relate results to client business objectives.
  • Proficient in managing multiple projects – ability to multi-task, organize, prioritize and structure workload.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively communicating and delegating to teammates in multiple locales.
  • Passion for the emerging media and the digital marketplace in general – demonstrates interest and initiative to test new partner types and tactics.
  • Experience with third party affiliate tracking platforms.

Required Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • A power-user of Microsoft Excel, or a willingness and aptitude to quickly become a power-user
  • General knowledge of the online marketing, affiliate marketing, online retail or online lead generation space.
