Business Analyst
KAYAK is looking for an individual to join one of the most innovative online travel companies in the world!
Do you thrive in an environment where there are no “Groundhog Days” and where you have flexibility to scope your own role? Can you push our analytical capabilities to the next level and support our marketing and comms team with proven, data-driven insights?
KAYAK and OpenTable are looking for a person that can turn substantial amounts of data into valuable and useful insights and good stories. A primary responsibility will be to support our Communications team, but you will also support the Marketing and Commercial functions. You will directly impact how we communicate with the press and share our data-based insights with the wider world. Your work will be showcased and viewed by readers globally. You will work with large datasets and mine millions of searches for insights, trends and patterns. You will have an opportunity to develop the role, processes, and methodologies. Finally, this is a good stepping stone for tackling a more specialized data science role: KAYAK offers an abundance of opportunities and avenues for career development.
A bachelor's degree in a marketing, business or quantitative field is preferred and is a good indicator of sufficient preparation, but is not strictly required: what you can do (or quickly learn to do) is more important. If you have worked within the field of PR and/or Business Intelligence this will be considered a plus. You might have a background as an analyst and are ready for the next challenge. Or you would like to join a truly global online company operating in an ambitious business environment.
You will report directly to the VP Optimization who is based in Stamford, CT, but you can work remotely. You will be Working closely with the entire North America team, who are mainly located in Cambridge, MA or Stamford..

-
Comfortable with some or all of SQL, Python, R, Power BI, Excel and/or other analytical tools, and an eagerness to quickly ramp-up in new data stacks, tools, and methodologies
-
Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting deadlines
