POSITION SUMMARY:

The Tax Research & Planning intern will be responsible for assisting on various U.S. and International tax planning projects including reorganizations and other tasks that impact the Company’s income tax provision.   

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assisting the tax planning team in monthly transactional work, including analyzing the tax consequences of transactions, searching for, requesting, collecting, organizing, and analyzing documentation to be presented to external auditors.
  • Assisting in the calculation of tax gain/loss with respect to transactions
  • Assisting in the preparation of tax return disclosure documents
  • General administrative duties including printing, photocopying, and filing documents

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • S Taxation/JD with significant tax coursework
  • Currently pursuing M.S Taxation or LL.M in Taxation
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Understanding of accounting concepts
  • Experience with Lexis Nexis, Westlaw, Bloomberg Tax and/or RIA Checkpoint preferred
  • Technology/computer skills - Proficiency in Excel and Word a must
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good organizational skills

NYC SALARY RANGE: 

The salary range for this position is $22 to $27. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
