POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the HR Services Manager, the Human Resources Service Specialist II is responsible for processing HR transactions and exceptions that are escalated from Human Resources Service Specialist I.  This position is integral to the processing end-to-end transactions throughout the employee cycle and ensures that all transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with company policies.  The Human Resources Service Specialist II also supports critical HR activities such as onboarding and compliance, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the HR function.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage and resolve exceptions and level 2 transactions, providing solutions to more complex employee inquiries and issues.
  • Process a wide range of employee transactions within Workday and BMC Helix, including hires, transfers, separations, and leave requests, ensuring accuracy and adherence to timelines.
  • Oversee the initiation and completion of the annual compensation cycle, maintaining strict compliance with company policies and guidelines.
  • Assist with the onboarding process for new hires, coordinating necessary paperwork and ensuring a smooth integration into the company.
  • Support HR compliance activities by maintaining organized and up-to-date employee files, adhering to legal and internal requirements for data privacy and protection.
  • Collaborate with HR team members to identify and implement process improvements, aiming to enhance efficiency and the employee experience.
  • Provide guidance and support to Human Resources Service Specialist I, acting as a point of escalation for complex cases.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Essential:

  • Between 2 and 4 years of experience using HR systems for administration, HR Operations, case management, or similar responsibilities.
  • Advanced understanding of HR operations and the ability to handle complex transactions with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong proficiency and working knowledge of HCM and service management platforms, software, and applications.
  • Demonstrable ability to navigate and process transactions efficiently.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of HR compliance requirements and best practices, with a focus on maintaining data integrity and security.

Desirable:

  • Experience in handling level 2 or higher HR transactions and resolving exceptions within a shared service center environment.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically when addressing HR-related challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and detailed guidance to both employees and team members.
  • A collaborative approach to work, with a willingness to share knowledge and assist others in the team.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on the latest HR technologies and practices.
  • Strong working knowledge of Workday and BMC Helix platforms, software, and applications.
