Do You Make the Cut?
The Head of Legal will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters within the organization. This role requires extensive legal expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, mitigate legal risks, and support the achievement of business objectives. The Head of Legal collaborates closely with internal stakeholders, external counsel, and regulatory bodies to provide guidance and advice on legal issues affecting the organization.
Responsibilities
Legal Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement the organization's legal strategy aligned with its overall goals and objectives.
- Identify legal risks and opportunities and devise strategies to mitigate risks and leverage opportunities.
- Provide legal guidance to senior management on key legal issues affecting the business.
Contract Management:
- Oversee the drafting, negotiation, and review of contracts and agreements, ensuring they are legally sound and aligned with the organization's interests.
- Establish standardized contract templates and processes to streamline contract management procedures.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards across all aspects of the organization's operations.
- Monitor changes in legislation and regulatory requirements and adapt policies and procedures accordingly.
Litigation Management:
- Manage and oversee all litigation matters involving the organization, including disputes, claims, and lawsuits.
- Collaborate with external counsel to develop litigation strategies and represent the organization's interests in legal proceedings.
- Evaluate settlement options and make recommendations to senior management regarding litigation resolution.
Corporate Governance:
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements and best practices.
- Support the senior management in fulfilling their fiduciary duties and responsibilities.
- Maintain corporate records and ensure compliance with corporate formalities.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess legal risks associated with business activities and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
- Provide legal advice and support in crisis management situations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from a good law school.
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience practicing law, with 4+ years in a Legal role with B2B SaaS organization
- Proven track record of successfully managing legal matters and providing strategic legal advice in a corporate environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Should have startup experience
- Should have worked in a US based organization
- Ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and make sound decisions under pressure.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct

- The ability to handle significant and complex legal matters with short turnaround times
