OPPORTUNITY

The primary purpose of this position is to deliver product to Hydrite customers, both internal and external, and to pick up and return material, empty containers and waste shipments.

As CDL Truck Driver, primary responsibilities include:

  • Inspect unit daily and report items requiring repairs to the Dispatch Lead.
  • Keep unit clean and orderly.
  • Know and follow requirements of our permits and licenses.
  • Know and follow Hydrite work and safety rules, motor carrier safety regulations and weight restrictions.
  • Deliver materials as assigned by the Dispatch Lead.
  • Review bills of lading versus the product being delivered to ensure that the correct product is delivered and that all special delivery instructions are followed.
  • Pick up all available empty containers at each stop (or make arrangements to pick them up later in the day).
  • Stay with unit while loading or unloading at customer facilities.
  • Complete waste inspection prior to acceptance. Waste that does not meet Hydrite standards will be rejected.
  • Complete required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Work hours and back up other employees as directed by the Dispatch Lead or Logistics Manager.
  • Uphold Hydrite’s Standard of Excellence through a continuous commitment to maintain quality facilities and provide quality products and services to internal and external customers.
  • Perform all duties outlined in relevant SOPs and all other duties to be assigned.
  • Participate in RCRA, regulatory, health & safety and process training activities as required. Review changes/additions with your supervisor.  Must be RCRA compliant.
  • Maintain a customer oriented, professional attitude at all times.
  • Maintain “Good Housekeeping” practices throughout the facility.
  • Recommend changes in SOPP’s and process equipment where greater efficiency can be achieved.
  • Maintain clean and safe trailers.
  • Help maintain clean and safe warehouse and dock area.
  • Works with other staff members to maintain workload balances. Provides back-up support as necessary.
  • Supports effective communication with all Hydrite departments where responsibilities overlap to ensure success of the branch team

REPORTING STRUCTURE

  • This position reports to the Logistics Supervisor

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL CRITERIA

  • Ability to operate a forklift; previous experience preferred.
  • Ability to hitch tractor and trailer, drive a tractor trailer unit with 48 foot trailer to make deliveries.
  • Must have basic mechanical ability.
  • Must possess valid CDL and current DOT physical certification with class A and X endorsements.
  • Ability to work independently with little direct supervision.
  • Ability to work as early in the day as needed, and work up to 16 hours a day.
  • Minimum 5 years OTR experience required.
  • Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
