Regional Sales Manager- Industrial Chemicals

The primary purpose of this position is to grow margin, volume, and revenue of the Industrial business segment (both directly and indirectly through your team). This is done by maximizing the profitability of the portfolio of existing business, generating new opportunities, managing a new business pipeline, and driving margin growth. Additional responsibilities are to provide professional leadership, coaching, and performance feedback to all reporting personnel to maximize their results and development. 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate a development plan that will result in an annual business plan that will include but not be limited to:
    • Collaboration through all Hydrite business segments to help grow territory and sell Hydrite’s value-add services and products.  
    • SWOT analysis of Regional Territory
    • Identification of key existing and new growth markets
    • Identification of key existing and new product growth strategies
    • Identification of top 20 existing accounts critical to success and specific action plans to grow and protect.
    • Identification of top 20 prospects and strategies to close them.
    • Individual account representative goals (M/V/R) including new account targets
    • Regional forecast for M/V/R
  • Performance Measures: Manager’s approval of the annual business plan. Semi-annual review coordinated with Strategic Planning dates, as well as, Year-end review against plan.
  • Maximize sales force effectiveness
    • Facilitate the development of a business plan for each representative including:
      • Time & Territory management plans
      • Specific account strategies utilizing Hydrite’s strengths in products and services
    • Conduct weekly ISM’s to determine progress against plan
    • Manage product pricing to maximize profitability consistent with Hydrite objectives and pricing guidelines
    • Maintain data base of competitions sales force
    • Make suggestions to management on new hire potentials
  • Improve selling skills of account representatives
    • Determining training needs of individual sales representative (SWOT), especially the sales representatives’ selling skill proficiency
    • Manage performance appraisal process
    • Conduct pre call planning and post call review
    • Facilitate sales SOP compliance
  • Maintain customer relations
    • Facilitate and assist in resolving customer service issues and complaints
    • Make joint calls with sales team when necessary 
    • Facilitate preferred account management plan
    • Entertain customers and prospects within Hydrite’s policies and procedures
    • Communicate and facilitate key customer requests for training and regulatory needs
    • Participate in trade associations
  • Assist the sales representatives with active involvement in the sales support and administrative functions
    • Engage corporate resources such as Purchasing, Operations, and TS&D to drive a competitive advantage in price or product
    • Provide sales support staff with appropriate amount of market intelligence
    • Facilitate administrative SOP compliance, including but not limited to:            
      • CSR management, expense reporting, account transfers, IRF management, customer proposals and contract approval. 
      • Be responsible for customer terms and conditions; align with manufacture terms and conditions

REPORTING STRUCTURE

  • This position reports to the Director of Sales- Industrial.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of prior sales experience required.
  • Must possess the skills necessary to differentiate Hydrite’s capabilities in the market and transfer those skills to their respective sales team. 
  • Must have a strong desire to succeed and be extremely proficient at identifying logical targets and driving those opportunities to closure.
  • Must have a strong ability to develop trust and rapport with external and internal customers.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be an effective communicator.
  • Prior management experience preferred.
  • Must have the ability to pass all pre-employment testing including, but not limited to background, MVR, and drug screening.
  • Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
