Class A CDL Driver

The primary purpose of this position is to ensure the timely delivery of products and services in professional manner that maintains the Hydrite standards of excellence.

Primary responsibilities include:

    • Inspect unit daily and report any needed repairs to Management
    • Responsible for ensuring tractor/trailers are Safe and DOT compliant before driving
    • Make assigned bulk or van deliveries adhering to the appropriate SOP’s.
    • Keep entire unit clean and in good working order, including the trailers.
    • Deliver and pick up products and containers as assigned.
    • Review all shipping papers and verify that the load is correct exactly as stated, including the container labels and trailer placards.  This includes proper use of BOL’s and Certificates of Analyses. 
    • Follow assigned delivery sequence.  Report any deviation immediately.  Contact the Sr. Transportation Manager if you are delayed when making deliveries.
    • Follow all special instructions on bill of lading, or as indicated by the Sr. Transportation Manager
    • Be knowledgeable in and comply with all company work and safety rules, motor carrier safety regulations, state weight laws, and environmental regulations.
    • All drivers must be familiar with the required licenses and permits.  Licenses and permits should be checked prior to departure.
    • Drivers are to remain with their units while loading at a non-Hydrite facility.  Product or waste which does not meet Hydrite acceptance standards should be rejected. 
    • Uphold Hydrite’s Standard of Excellence by demonstrating a commitment to maintain quality facilities and provide quality products and services to internal and external customers
    • Perform all duties outlined in relevant SOPs and all other duties to be assigned.
    • Participate in RCRA, regulatory, health & safety and process training activities as required.  Review changes/additions with your supervisor.  Must be RCRA compliant.
    • Wear appropriate PPE as required for each job task
    • Complete all training as required and on time.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

  • This position reports to the Sr. Transportation Manager

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must possess a valid CDL and current DOT physical certification.
  • Tanker Endorsement and Haz endorsement required.
  • Must have an acceptable driving record.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations.
  • Bulk Tanker and hazardous material experience preferred.
  • Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
