The Manager of Audience Marketing is a critical part of the Forbes marketing team.  Reporting to the Vice President of Audience Marketing, this experienced performance marketer will take an active role in growing attendance at Forbes in-person, virtual, and hybrid events. This individual will also take the lead in driving results for the entire team via various paid social channels with a special focus on LinkedIn. 


Social Marketing:

  • Linkedin/Netline/Facebook: Create lead forms, set up ads with copy and creative. Manage bids, audiences and budgets for campaigns depending on performance. Track cost per leads to make sure the strategy is effective.  Communicate with ad partners as needed
  • Maintain Google lead sheets. Add registrants from bizzabo registrations platform to google sheets, qualify all registrants, add external leads (linkedin, netline, facebook - etc.) from lead forms to google sheet as well as ad spend and metrics. 
  • Track costs across ALL paid social channels for the entire AD team.
  • Work with newsletter team to identify opportunities to promote events. Create copy and work on placement for internal Piano ads.
  • Reports on events for AD: weekly live metrics and analysis for Monday meeting as well as report on leads end of week for weekly AD update
  • Review of emails: look at emails from other colleagues to make sure they are good to go 

Virtual, In-person, and Hybrid Event and Community Marketing:

  •  Create marketing plans based on contractually agreed upon demographic with sponsor(s)
  •  Build email marketing campaigns and registration landing pages within our marketing automation platform, Pardot (copywriting included) and Bizzabo (event registration platform)
  •  Set up, manage and execute direct marketing outreach campaigns to assigned custom and tentpole gatherings plus community virtual and in-person events
  • Define audience segments per event, ensuring effective targeting; build lists
  • Create landing pages for assigned events on ForbesConnect.  Create registration module in Bizaboo ticketing platform—pricing, discount codes, confirmation emails, etc.
  • Work across business groups to define and execute opportunities for live marketing, audience growth & data acquisition, across multi-channels: newsletters, partners, house ads, organic and paid social
  • Maintain event timelines, meeting schedules, and help manage marketing process from planning through approval, and stakeholder communication
  • Collaborate and communicate with cross functional teams to ensure brand alignment and successful outcomes i.e. creative design, social, PR, content programming, production management, legal, editorial, etc.
  • Create operational emails (reminders) and work with Demand Gen team to execute in a timely manner.
  • Work with the  demand team to infuse automation into the event marketing process including list pulls, segmentation, triggered emails, testing, etc.

Reporting & Database Management:

  •  Track and maintain YOY event analysis and weekly reporting for all community events with Executive Director
  • Reporting as it relates to attribution by channel and revenue sources and use this data to optimize future community and event strategies 
  • Work with entire AD team to implement digital surveys focused on virtual and live experience and identify future improvement opportunities
  • Work with audience and community marketing counterparts to ensure database crossover and overuse is minimized

 Customer Service:

  •  Help manage multiple event mailboxes, ensure all customer inquiries are met and any issues are forwarded accordingly in a timely fashion
  •  Respond to inquiries and responses and convert prospects by email and phone accordingly.


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with an incredible attention to detail; can prioritize and multitask and pivot on a dime
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, constantly changing and fast paced environment
  • Curious, likes to learn new things, delve into complex problems and recommend solutions
  • Highly proficient with tools including  paid social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.), Microsoft Outlook Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Event Registration Platforms (Bizzabo a plus!), Salesforce and Pardot.  Excellence with Salesforce, Pardot and Excel is critical.
  • 2-5 years of relevant event marketing experience including data management and data compliance
  • B.A. degree from four-year college or university, preferably in the field of event marketing, content marketing, advertising, journalism, public relations or equivalent experience
