Forbes Media is seeking a tech-savvy Customer Data Platform (CDP) Director to join the Customer Experience Growth team. The ideal candidate understands the value proposition of the technology and has extensive experience with CDP strategy, technical support and stakeholder management. The ideal candidate will also have experience in the media, subscriptions, and/or publishing industries. The CDP director will work closely with leadership and stakeholders across multiple lines of business to accelerate our CDP usage to drive revenue growth at Forbes.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as liaison between our internal customers and CDP platform partner to ensure the technology is used efficiently and productively to meet each team's goals
  • Own the day-to-day management and execution of campaigns through the CDP plus identify enhancement opportunities to meet the needs of internal and external customers. 
  • Define and prioritize activation growth strategy, including but not limited to data collection enhancements, additional API connections and standing up new features and functionality.
  • Ensure data security and governance within the CDP meets Forbes procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Evangelize and educate internal partners and stakeholders on CDP capabilities, opportunities for expansion to drive growth and results
  • Maintain thorough best practices documentation.
  • Work closely with data engineering team to support additional data integration and/or transformation.
  • Alongside a direct report, create an average of 40 audiences per month based on stakeholder requests.
  • Serve as the bridge between the non-technical and technical resources during development and implementation to ensure that requirements and dependencies are well understood.
  • Provide ongoing assessment of industry trends and customer needs/requirements by leveraging industry research, consumer research, and professional networking

The ideal candidate:

  • 6+ years as a technical product owner or similar work experience
  • Previous experience with a CDP, especially BlueConic, and with at least one ESP (eg, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Sailthru, Hubspot, ActiveCampaign)
  • Experience setting up API connections and data connections between platforms
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and on project teams
  • Strong understanding of global marketing privacy and compliance practices and regulations
  • Experience presenting to C-level leadership
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills
  • Solutions oriented, especially the ability to find creative solutions
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects under deadlines
  • Highly collaborative, great communicator and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Extremely detailed oriented

The annual base salary range for this role is $140,000 - $150,000.
