Client Partner (Non-Endemic and Agency Sales), Deliveroo Media & Ecommerce

We have an exciting opportunity for a Client Partner to join our team at Deliveroo Media & Ecommerce for a fixed-term 12 month maternity cover. Advertising is a new and exciting space for Deliveroo, so this role involves an element of working out the right spaces for us to play in, directly engaging with non-endemic advertisers and media agencies, and embedding yourself externally to unlock budgets and investments into the Deliveroo advertising platform. This makes for an incredibly exciting role for someone to stretch their commercial and strategic skills across both business development and account management.

 

This role will be based in Milan (with flexible, hybrid working) reporting to the Global Client Partner Lead in our HQ in London, UK. The Client Partner plays a crucial role in unlocking revenue and  managing relationships with key clients, ensuring the successful execution of sales and marketing strategies. 

 

The Team

Deliveroo Media & eCommerce (DME) is the Deliveroo Ads sales house that connects world leading consumer brands with our customers to help drive their advertising objectives in the exciting new space of retail media. Aside from offering media solutions on our platform, we also provide off-platform solutions through social, CRM, product sampling and data to provide something truly unique. The team is composed of commercial sales leads, campaign managers, and data analysts operating across UK, France, Italy and UAE.

 

The Role

This role will be responsible for driving advertising revenue with non-endemic customers and media agencies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in advertising sales, with existing strong relationships with media agencies and non-endemic advertisers in Italy. They’ll be responsible for building and nurturing client relationships, developing strategic plans with partners and overseeing account growth.

Key Responsibilities

This is an individual contributor role that is 100% focused on revenue generation and overseeing campaign delivery. This is currently the only DME role in Italy so the ideal candidate will enjoy operating in a solo market position, demonstrating the ability to work autonomously and proactively. Given that your direct manager will be based outside of Italy, you must be comfortable with remote supervision and capable of managing tasks independently while aligning the broader team objectives.

  • Meet and exceed sales targets and KPIs, ensuring consistent growth in relevant revenue streams

Identify, approach and secure new business opportunities with media agencies and non-endemic advertisersAct as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction

  • Leverage data, insights and measurements to build plans which achieve customer goals and objectives
  • End to end ownership of the growth of the commercial relationship with your book of business
  • Work closely with internal functions to plan, deliver and report on all campaigns

Monitor industry trends, market conditions and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and challenges in the Italian market. Provide regular reports and updates on sales performance, market insights and client feedback to the senior leadership team.

Skills & Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in advertising sales, with a strong focus on selling to non-endemic advertisers and media agencies. Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
  • Established network of contacts within media agencies and non-endemic advertisers, with the ability to quickly leverage these relationships to drive business growth
  • Deep understanding of the Italian advertising landscape, including knowledge of the latest trends and best practices in digital and traditional advertising
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Italian and English. Able to present creative ideas and campaign proposals to clients in a clear and compelling manner
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills, with the ability to independently secure high-value deals and long-term contracts
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively, identifying new market opportunities
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced dynamic environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and market conditions
