The Senior Operations Associate oversees the performance of Operations Associates, ensuring seamless and efficient store operations for Deliveroo orders across multiple locations. This role involves supervising associates, analyzing performance metrics, collaborating with partners, and resolving operational challenges by working closely with internal teams. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This position reports to the Grocery Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee Operations Associates to ensure adherence to schedules, achievement of weekly site visit targets, and compliance with operational standards.
- Provide ongoing mentorship, guidance, and real-time support for associates to help them resolve urgent or complex issues.
- Act as the primary point of contact for associates during operational challenges, offering immediate solutions and assistance to minimize disruptions.
- Review and analyze reports from associates to identify trends, recurring issues, and areas for improvement in B10 metrics and picker efficiency.
- Develop and implement strategies to address operational inefficiencies and enhance performance.
- Manage and update the picker training program to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
- Provide regular feedback to Operations Associates to ensure consistent development and adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with store partners and internal teams (e.g., pricing and stock teams) to address stock discrepancies, file integration issues, and menu alignment challenges.
- Build strong working relationships with partners to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as picker accuracy and speed, providing actionable feedback to drive improvement.
- Regularly track progress and communicate insights to the Grocery Operations Manager.
- Work with menu and stock management teams to ensure real-time stock information is accurate and aligned across systems.
- Proactively prevent and resolve discrepancies that could impact operations.
- Escalate unresolved or systemic issues to the Grocery Operations Manager in a timely manner.
- Maintain regular communication on-field activities, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
Requirements
- 3+ years in field operations, supervisory, or managerial roles within retail, grocery, or delivery services.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage performance, and drive operational improvements.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Comfortable using mobile/tablet applications, analyzing data, and generating operational reports.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a car (fuel allowance provided).
- Willingness to travel between multiple store locations as required by the role.
