The Corporate Communications Associate Manager UK&I will play an important and leading role in helping Deliveroo protect and build our reputation. You will be joining the Global Communications and Policy Team, where you will be working across communications, business, news, trade and owned channels, including working closely with our public affairs and social media team day to day.
We are looking for someone that has a passion for corporate communications, news and trade media, using owned channels to drive reputation and current affairs. You will be based in our London HQ office, where you will be required to work in the office 3-days a week.
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Communications UK&I, you will be responsible for:
- Support the Head of Corporate Communications and Corporate Communications Manager on media relations in the UK and Ireland, including playing a key role in managing our corporate press office and handling incoming media queries from the national print, broadcast and trade media and engaging directly with journalists on a wide range of issues and stories
- Take the lead on Deliveroo’s Trade Communications strategy and outreach for the UK, working on a variety of partner announcements, new product developments, profiles and features which position us as a partner of choice in the UK in the hospitality, grocery and retail trade press
- Support the Head of Corporate Communications with the creation of positive business announcements and creative partnerships and campaigns, across our restaurant, grocery, retail and advertising business as well as those which are focused on the most important areas of Deliveroo policy
- Play a leading role in how we use our own channels to build corporate reputation. Play leading role in Deliveroo’s LinkedIn strategy and content development - ensuring a pipeline of strong high-quality content which supports Deliveroo’s corporate narrative and strategy, as well as leveraging our stories on Deliveroo’s Newsroom.
- Provide guidance on corporate reputation to wider business departments such as customer care
- Lead on M&E and reporting for the corporate communications team
- Identify and land speaker opportunities as well as create high-quality briefing materials to support with media interviews and meetings, and all corporate-related internal briefing documents
Requirements:
A confident media handler who enjoys engaging directly with journalists - with strong press office and issues management experience, and confidence communicating complex and sensitive issues to national media
- Experience in corporate PR (in-house/agency), with work on relevant clients or businesses that are high profile and on the news agenda
- Strong understanding and experience of trade media strategy and delivery - with a good network of journalists in hospitality, retail and grocery trade press
- Experience in using owned channels, especially LinkedIn, for corporate reputation - and experience developing high quality and engaging content
- A passion for M&E and best in class reporting that demonstrates the impact of corporate communications
- A good understanding of the media and political landscape in the UK and Ireland with an excellent antenna for successful stories and a desire to work on issues which are at the top of the news agenda
- A track-record of landing positive corporate coverage in the national and trade media and building successful campaigns which have an impact
- Someone who is passionate about corporate communications, a team player, and is keen to be a core part of a high-performing and supportive team
