Who you are:

As a Business Lead on the Client Partnership team you are responsible for implementing, leading and growing client engagements for a portfolio of accounts within Home and Entertainment. This role is for a true digital marketing and business leader - with an emphasis on commerce or marketplaces. You thrive developing value-driven relationships with our clients and internal teams. Day-to-day you’ll lead an integrated team across connections, commerce and creative to solve client challenges and deliver brilliant results. You set the tone, inspire and motivate the team to drive high client satisfaction and retention  – while at the same time managing client expectations and ensuring our programs are focused on exceeding their performance goals.

Business Leads at Code3 ensure high client and employee retention, focus on growing revenue within their portfolio of accounts through both organic growth and onboarding new clients, and strive to become vertical industry domain experts across all our service offerings. Business Leads are accountable for the business management activities related to servicing a client, including maintaining profitability and accurately reporting revenue. You are a leader within the Client Partnership team and a key part of our Agency Leadership Team. You will oversee Client Partnership direct reports as well as maintain indirect responsibility for Activation and Creative teams. You must be adept at having difficult client and employee conversations. 

What you’ll do:

Client Ownership

  • Establish and maintain strong, strategic partnerships with clients by ensuring the successful execution of deliverables and making strategic recommendations related to their business goals, competitive landscape, marketing mix, technology stack, and industry 
  • Proactively deliver thought leadership and inspiration specific to industry, vertical and economic landscapes that evolve the way we buy media and manage our business
  • Partner and collaborate with other client agency/internal partners to deliver an integrated media approach across channels and platforms
  • Engage a cross-agency team to deliver high levels of service and output quality – providing the strategic guidance to push integrated teams to think holistically and work collaboratively 
  • Immerse yourself in clients’ business: understanding their challenges, objectives, external economic environment, markets they operate in, competitive threats and relevant partner agencies; knows their business model, how it is performing and what success looks like; knows client’s products inside out and applies this knowledge to deliver innovative, ambitious advertising plans
  • Understand our clients’ commercial model and work with senior account leadership to ensure business is managed profitably based on Finance goals
  • Improves client satisfaction to expand existing revenue streams and build new ones
  • Act as a senior point of escalation for delivery and service related issues, working alongside clients and internal partners to find resolution and maintain/improve client satisfaction
  • Responsible for strong client satisfaction – developing action plans as needed to strengthen senior client relationships  and ensure consistent follow through with team, including proactive check ins with client to ensure improvements have been recognized
  • Responsible for business operations, including forecasting, contracting, budget approvals, operationalizing SLAs and KPIs, accurate time reporting, and other administrative tasks needed to support agency’s stewardship of the account
  • Translate agency strategies into innovative, executional business plans for clients that deliver business value
  • Accountable for team’s identification/implementation of tools to standardize and automate processes

Mentor and Develop Talent

  • Provide ongoing support and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Activation, Creative and Growth to align skill-improvement objectives with business goals.
  • Participate in developing training materials, including presentations, guides, and checklists that are shareable and scalable.
  • Conduct training, workshops, and one-on-one coaching sessions to ensure client partners understand and can apply key concepts in real-world scenarios.
  • Keep abreast of the latest trends, tools, and best practices in digital marketing to ensure training content is relevant and addressing client needs.

Vertical Expertise

  • On a quarterly basis, collect client data from their vertical pod to understand what is working well, develop baseline industry metric, identify/trends, and develop strategies that should be tested across the vertical
  • Regular meetings with Practice Leads to understand what best practices are being developed/recommended, communicate vertical/client needs to Practices to ensure clients are getting the strategic support needed

  • 10+ years of experience leading commerce and marketplaces accounts

Salary Information: The base salary range for this position is $160,000 - $200,000 and is commensurate with candidate experience and location. The position also offers a bonus based on company and client success.
