The Lead, Search will work closely with internal Search teams to ensure we’re driving best-in-class client strategy that either follows current best practices or sets the new standard. They will manage a book of business overseeing channel and investment strategy, media planning & execution, reporting, client relations, and communications with key points of contact. This is a collaborative position, requiring interaction with many of our other teams at Code3, such as our Client Delivery team, other platform groups, and internal analytics resources to problem-solve for clients. The Lead, Search will also have opportunities to partner with our Growth team on New Business pitches, provide support across marketing initiatives, and lean into thought leadership for the industry. 

What you’ll do:

  • Reporting into the Director, Search this role will be a key leader within the Search team 
  • Assist in development of best practices, ensuring Search clients are receiving best-in-class service, support and performance 
  • Streamline execution and ongoing optimization workflows to automate as much as possible 
  • Directly manage junior Search team members with additional opportunities for mentoring/training across Search and other Activation teams 
  • Own client strategy and execution across retail media platforms including: Amazon, Walmart, Target (Roundel), Kroger, Criteo, CVS, Walgreens, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Best Buy, etc
    • Support is available for managing day to day execution on all accounts
    • Set performance goals and track progress towards meeting business objectives, regularly reporting on key metrics and providing recommendations for optimization
  • Develop strategic roadmaps and testing plans for all accounts to continuously drive improved performance 
  • Build trusting relationships with client counterparts establishing yourself as a strategic Search expert and educating the client on Search, the channel's role in the marketing mix, and how it contributes to the brand goals 
  • Own insights and strategic recommendations within the QBR process for clients
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for eCommerce, omnichannel and overall retail media within the Paid Search team
  • Assist in developing case studies and writing blogs on modern search for our website
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices, focusing on how changes can help improve offerings to accounts 
  • Aid in creation of new business presentations, support sales call, and participate in new business RFPs 
  • Assist with and run advanced training on new features and services

You should have:

  • 5+ years of paid search advertising experience with Amazon (Walmart and/or other e-Retail marketplaces)
  • 2-3 years of media planning and execution experience
  • 1-2 years of proven experience managing other people 
  • Experience managing budgets between $100k - $500k per month 
  • Subject matter expert knowledge of search marketing and the relationship search can play within cross-channel strategies 
  • A curiosity and desire to learn how to leverage AI more in your day-to-day
  • Strong analytics, organization and communication skills
  • Experience in applying retail search and sponsored product ads to brand building and direct response initiatives
  • Ability to multitask across a number of clients and projects while managing multiple workflows against tight deadlines

Salary Information: The base salary range for this position is $108,000 - $126,000 and is commensurate with candidate experience and location.
