What is this role? 

As a Key Account Manager for Cirkul, you will be responsible to drive growth with new and existing retail partners, allowing the company to achieve its financial goals while presenting the brand in the best way to consumers. 

What does an average day look like? 

  • Driving Results: Drive strategy and execution to grow and maximize existing accounts; prioritize and win future accounts, then lead efficient customer onboarding processes.
  • Taking Ownership: Build creative strategies to engage new retail partners in order to exceed sales and profit goals.
  • Making Decisions: Propose recommendations to Cirkul senior management team to gain alignment, present to retailers to get their buy-in, and quickly action ideas into reality.
  • Cultivating Relationships: Work closely with Cirkul Retail Ops team to ensure shipments get out on time and in full; find methods to make retail order/fulfillment/invoicing processes more efficient.
  • Instilling Trust: Be the champion for the retail customers internally; work with Cirkul internal teams to service the account in a profitable manner while also supporting DTC growth.
  • Customer Focus: Build strong, consultative, relationships with all retail partners by listening to, understanding and then delivering on their needs.

What background should you have? 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5-7 years experience in sales as an account manager with blue chip CPG and/or housewares products in a high growth environment
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and growing new and existing retail accounts
  • Experience working with retailers in grocery, club, drug, sporting goods, and other priority channels
  • Experience with trade spend management, retailer systems, and new vendor set up
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with many cross functional departments
  • Highly detail-oriented, analytical, responsive, and able to consistently solve problems that arise in a level-headed manner
  • Customer first attitude to handle all requests in a timely manner
  • Deep understanding of key trends in retail and the beverage/consumer products industry
  • Can do attitude with no reservations doing what it takes to get the job done
  • History of managing multiple accounts in different classes of trade at the same time
