What is this role?
The Senior Incoming Inspections Manager will oversee and manage multiple sites across the U.S. The incoming inspection labs are responsible for ensuring dimensional integrity of plastic components, food safety on raw ingredients and proper form fit and function on assembled goods. This role requires a detail-oriented leader with expertise in quality control and lab management to ensure that all components meet our high standards for safety and performance.
What does an average day look like?
- Driving Results: Lead the inspection process to ensure timely and accurate qualification of plastic components. Continuously monitor lab performance metrics to drive efficiency and quality improvements.
- Taking Ownership: With a service based mindset Manage and coordinate the operations of labs, from overseeing daily activities to handling complex quality issues. Ensure that all inspections adhere to Cirkul’s standards and regulatory requirements across all sites.
- Making Decisions: With the support of other key stakeholders make critical decisions regarding the acceptance or rejection of incoming components based on inspection results. Implement corrective actions and process improvements as needed. Run additional investigations as required.
- Cultivating Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to address quality issues and ensure compliance with our specifications. Collaborate with internal teams to align on quality expectations and resolve any issues. Stay informed of new products being developed and work with Supply Chain and the NPI team to establish outgoing and incoming inspection criteria.
- Instilling Trust: Foster a culture of trust and transparency within the inspection teams. Provide clear and constructive feedback and ensure open communication channels with all stakeholders.
- Customer Focus: Ensure that all components meet the highest quality standards to support Cirkul’s commitment to delivering exceptional products to our customers. Address any quality concerns that may impact the end consumer.
What background should you have?
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, Materials Science, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ) preferred.
- 7-10 years of experience in quality control or lab management, particularly with plastic components. Proven track record of managing multiple facilities or teams is highly desirable.
- Deep understanding of measurement methods and statistics
- Strong leadership and team management abilities. Expertise in quality inspection processes and standards for plastic components. Proficiency in data analysis and relevant software tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively engage with vendors, team members, and senior management.
- Willingness to travel to lab locations and vendor sites as required.
