Job Title: Asset & Configuration Analyst
Base location: Rochdale, Greater Manchester or Remote across UK
There may on occasion be an element of travel within the UK and overnight stays can be expected.
About the role
This is a key role within IT Service Management at Agilisys reporting into the Service Asset and Configuration Manager.
The role of the Asset & Configuration Analyst is ensure that the IT landscape is documented, tracked, and managed for both the internal Agilisys and where required, external client facing IT hardware estate and services are adequately tracked throughout their lifecycle. Highlighting and minimising risk, prioritised, scheduled, authorised, and implemented audits and asset reporting in line with process, policy, and procedure using appropriate toolsets.
Key role deliverables:
Monitor the CMDB
Ensuring the integrity and quality of the information held within the CMDB by verifying that all mandatory information required on a configuration item has been supplied and registered within the CMDB.
Verifying that mandatory information on all new CI relationships has been supplied and registered within the CMDB
Monitor availability of the CM Service
Ensuring regular backups of data are taken, monitoring performance, and providing user support.
Monitor document retention
Auditing the database and reporting overdue reviews for action to owners. Ensuring that the archiving policy is being followed.
Setting up authorised new users and deleting old users in accordance with the access rights documented in the Configuration Management Plan.
Operate Configuration Management
Operating the CMDB consistent with the Configuration Management plan in order to provide accurate information to support the managed service or development project.
Providing agreed reports as identified in the Configuration Management Plan at agreed intervals.
Ensure that process measures are regularly provided to the relevant process champion.
Amend Configuration Management
On receipt of an authorised change from the Change Owner, validating the change to ensure that only compliant CIs are allowed onto the CMDB and then update the CMDB. Revising the baseline, as necessary.
How will you stand out?
- Strong experience and knowledge of Configuration Management principles and methodologies.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Service Now and experience of an end to end implementation of CMDB.
- Experience of working with internal business and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience across ITIL disciplines specifically for Configuration Management.
- The ability to review and produce reporting.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Sense of thoroughness and initiative.
- Knowledge of the working practices and infrastructure within Operations Centres and Service Desks
- Experience of Asset or Configuration Management within Service Management Toolsets across multiple clients.
