THE ROLE 

 

Key responsibilities 
 

The M365 Engineer is a crucial member of the Agilisys team. This role involves collaboration with architects and project managers on current projects, as well as support for our existing multi-tenant M365 environments and associated workstreams. The successful candidate will expand their responsibilities as the team evolves, contributing to a diverse, multi-client managed service that encompasses a variety of clients, technologies, and environments. 

 

 

Specific duties 

Depending on the project, you will need to be comfortable doing the following: 

 

  • Foster a collaborative approach by building and nurturing strong relationships with stakeholders, both within Agilisys and with external partners, to achieve shared goals and deliver exceptional outcomes. 
  • Embrace a culture of innovation and agility, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and adaptation. 
  • Assist in the delivery of relevant project works as and when required. 
  • Prototyping and proof-of-concept development under guidance of engineers and architects. 
  • Proactive and constantly seeking to learn and improve both self and team. 
  • Maintain knowledge of various M365 IT architecture, standards and practices and consistently applies these standards. 
  • Provide a high level of service to our customers & seek ways to continually improve the service to our clients. 
  • Perform various daily checks and tasks across internal and customer environments & perform any required actions. 
  • Produce high quality documentation and keep up to date, to facilitate efficient planning, execution, and support within BAU. 
  • Identify where a support request may be a project requirement, capture technical requirements and produce a project specification. 
  • Participate in troubleshooting and incident resolution activities and ensure support SLAs and OLAs are met. 
  • Manage support ticket queues across multiple clients to a high standard following ITSM principles. 
  • Provide technical support, incident management and problem management across the M365 environment. 
  • Maintain security policies and procedures for Agilisys and our clients, including managing the various secure score elements. 
  • Ensure systems are patched securely maintaining the highest level of availability, reliability, and performance. 
  • Drive continuous service improvement initiatives to ensure a stable and reliable service. 
  • Provisioning and support for Microsoft Teams and other Microsoft 365 services. 
  • Managing security permissions for users and groups. 
  • Resolving application questions, bugs, and other issues. 
  • Enforcing governance standards such as policies, procedures, and internal brand guidelines. 
  • Administration of SharePoint features including lists, libraries, document sets, content types, managed metadata & term store, and custom web parts.

Candidates should bring a wealth of experience in managing and supporting M365 projects, with a thorough knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite, including SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Azure, Exchange, and the Power Platform, as well as Azure Virtual Desktop. An understanding of the security and compliance features within the Microsoft ecosystem is particularly valued. 

 

In joining our team, the chosen candidate will be instrumental in delivering project support for the Microsoft 365 platform. As an M365 Engineer, the role will entail analysing client requirements, providing technical support, compiling documentation, and ensuring robust support for multi-tenant M365 environments. The Ideal Candidate 
 

The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for innovation and a dedication to transforming public services. They should possess excellent stakeholder management skills and a natural ability to build and maintain effective relationships within the company and with clients. We are looking for a self-starter who is enthusiastic, creative, and possesses a high degree of problem-solving ability, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 product suite, including SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Teams, Azure AD, and Microsoft Security and Compliance Package. 
  • Knowledge in Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) management, including environment and application patch management. 
  • Knowledge and experience in the Power Platform tools. 
  • Knowledge in Windows 10 Operating Systems, Active Directory, SCCM, Intune. 
  • Good understanding of cloud-based EUC technologies, IT governance processes, and IT security principles including firewalls and antivirus solutions. 
  • Proven ability to work under pressure in challenging environments and to prioritise varied workloads. 

 

Desirable skills & experience 

The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of industry experience providing project & support for Microsoft 365, with a preference for those who have managed services for a client base exceeding 1000 users. They will have a strong analytical background with a proven ability to document business requirements and processes. 

 

 

- Proficient in SharePoint, Teams, One Drive for Business administration. 

- Capable of supporting Power Platform tools, such as PowerApps, Power Automate, and Power BI. 

- Foundational knowledge of PowerShell scripting for automation and a solid grasp of IT security practices. 

- Experience with Azure, including Azure Functions, Automation, B2B, and Logic Apps, as well as Intune and Advanced Threat Protection (ATP). 

- Knowledge of Windows 10 technologies, including support, maintenance, and build development. 

- Experience in supporting and maintaining large-scale EUC systems such as SCCM and AVD, and a good understanding of cloud-based EUC technologies like Microsoft Intune and modern desktop infrastructure.
