What We're Looking For:

The purpose of this role is to serve as an analytics specialist in the business, focusing on advanced data mining, statistical analysis and modelling of data to create solutions that enable enhanced business performance through data-driven insights. Will serve as the Academic product portfolio data science lead and in doing so ensures that roadmap and architecture consider data needs. Actively seeks opportunities to leverage Data Science to enhance product.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:


  • Selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques
  • Use machine learning tools and statistical techniques to produce solutions to business problems
  • Use machine learning tools and statistical techniques to produce solutions to business problems
  • Cleansing and verifying the integrity of data and enhancing data sources where necessary
  • Ensure code is thoroughly tested
  • Ensure best practices are followed
  • Performs ad-hoc data mining and exploratory analysis 
  • Analysis of data in order to provide data-driven insights 
  • Visualize data insights and communicate findings


  • Support, mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid level Data Analysts
  • Coach analysts and scientists through complex issues
  • Provide feedback on technical performance
  • Manage team member’s career paths
  • Ensure team members have a work-life balance

  • Oversee the team’s day-to operations

  • Collaborate with the data leads and stakeholders to understand the data requirements in order to provide them with support

  • Perform research and constantly stays on top of the industry’s trends

Things That Should Be In Your Background: 

  • ± 5 - 7 years in the Data industry
  • 1+ year’s experience in supervising people and giving guidance to more junior employees
  • Specific qualifications or technical skills 
  • A Bachelor's degree (Stats, Engineering, Business Science preferred)
  • Experience in data analysis and business intelligence
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Proficiency in R or Python
  • Experience working in statistics
  • Experience in building machine learning models
