About our Internships
2K’s summer internships are paid internship opportunities, 10 weeks long, focused on both functional and professional growth. Internships include weekly learning sessions with senior leadership, networking opportunities, and fun and engaging projects that have real-world impact.
2K’s summer internship program runs June through August at our 2K Publishing HQ in Novato, California. The internship program is open to all U.S residents who are students at the time of internship. The pace is fast, the atmosphere is fun, and we’ll push and challenge you to learn and grow beyond anything you’d expect. It’s truly a unique and rewarding experience.
What We Need
We are looking for a data science intern to join our rapidly growing team in the Data & Analytics organization. Our team brings scale, repeatability, and reliability to analytics efforts that actively inform the design, operation, and optimization of 2K’s mobile games. We work to draw out clear insights and recommendations, which enables our partners to confidently make decisions and monitor game health and marketing efforts based on the vast amounts of data we have at our disposal.
What You Will Do
- Develop creation of comprehensive metrics for different in game events and marketing efforts, bringing confidence in data driven decision making
- Design, implement and support Tableau dashboards as well as their associated data pipelines
- Guide business teams in choosing the right metrics to inform their decision making
- Improve and maintain recurring analytics reports with necessary updates to existing SQL queries and documentation.
- Own and craft cross-functional communications regarding dashboard delivery and triaging
- Bring your own viewpoints to help the team drive creative and innovative product solutions for our players
What Will Make You a Great Fit
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field
- Experience with SQL to manipulate large, multi-dimensional data sets
- Experience with R or Python for data analysis
- Ability to proactively communicate and follow up with both the team and cross-functional partners
- Being self-motivated person with the ability to work independently across multiple projects
- Able to translate findings into data-driven stories for non-technical audiences
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with data visualization tools, such as Tableau
- Familiarity with predictive modeling techniques
- Familiarity with experimentation techniques, such as A/B testing
- Demonstrated data science experience from personal projects, previous internships, or work experience
- Passion for mobile gaming
- Knowledge of 2K mobile titles, such as NBA 2K Mobile, WWE Supercard

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $25 and $35 per hour. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
