Join Zip’s Technology function, responsible for building and maintaining seamless, secure and sustainable products that enable customers to shop with confidence and merchant partners to grow their brands.

As a Senior Software Engineer in our web team, you will own our Zip website, Gift Card Website and API, JavaScript Integration Widget, and of course our Web Component and SDKs used by teams at Zip.

You will be building onto our regional websites by adding new features and supporting our investors website move in house, which was previously owned by an agency. 

You’ll be someone who has a strong sense of ownership: You build it, you test it, you run it, you deploy it, and you support it. If you have experience trying things in different ways, share with your team - we love finding new ways to do things! #changethegame.

What you’ll bring to the team

Zipsters work on a broad range of initiatives, and our skills and experiences all look a little different. What really matters to us is that you’re a great fit with our four Values, and have a desire to learn and grow.

  • React and Next.js! We love both Server Side Rendering and React Server Components.
  • API development using any Node.js based framework.
  • TypeScript and strong foundational (vanilla) JavaScript knowledge.
  • Webpack and Rollup - yes we build both apps and libraries and do some optimisations using both tools.
  • Tailwind, CSS-in-JS and SCSS modules. 
  • Playwright or other e2e testing frameworks. You know - everything should be tested. We need it, we love it, it's a must have.
  • Component Driven Structure. We follow the Component Driven approach and are obsessed with Visual Regression tests with Storybook & Chromatic.
  • Able to work with non-technical stakeholders, such as PM, Designers, and Marketing.
