Zip is looking for an exceptional Finance Accountant for the ANZ reporting team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, ANZ, this role will support the day to day Finance operations needs of the business.

This role will suit someone who is looking for exposure to a dynamic industry, who is keen to make an impact, and passionate about process improvement. In this role, you will be AU focused and take ownership of key operational processes including employee expenses and cards. This role will also provide operational support to the Trust finance team. You will also have the opportunity to work with the rest of the finance team in identifying and implementing process improvements and internal controls.

Interesting problems you’ll get to solve

  • Perform operational tasks to support the Trust finance team including reconciliation of Trust cash flows and processing of payments and write-offs 
  • Take ownership on various parts of the team’s month end process, as required
  • Perform reconciliations of cash, accounts payable, accruals, prepayments and payroll balances, as required.
  • Take ownership of the expense management platform including managing users, processing of staff reimbursements and ensuring compliance with the Global Business expense policy
  • Take ownership of the staff corporate card banking platform including arranging employee cards and ensuring they are issued in line with company policy
  • Monthly reconciliation of staff corporate cards, AMEX and 2 x virtual credit cards   
  • Take ownership of the Travel platform including adding users and assisting with queries
  • Assist with audit queries & requests
  • Provide inputs to and assistance with tax and treasury processes, as required
  • Ad hoc Accounts Payable requests
  • Support the business with new initiatives in a finance capacity
  • Contribute to the evolution & continuous improvement of Zip’s finance processes & procedures

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Qualified CPA/CA or studying towards this
  • Min 2-3 years experience in a similar role
  • Experience with intercompany & preparing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Solid grasp of accounting standards & principles
  • Intermediate to Advanced level Excel skills
  • Proven experience in process improvement
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and an ever-changing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including asynchronous working with stakeholders from remote/international teams.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience in process and system improvement.
  • Desire to continually improve, including challenging the status quo and making changes to internal control processes.
  • Good relationship skills, with the ability to use both to build consensus and action across our business.
