We’re looking for a seasoned product development manager to take the lead in developing beautiful frames in partnership with our designers. Experienced in development and an expert communicator, the person in this role will  work with all departments (especially Supply Chain and Merchandising & Planning) to translate our designs into beautiful prototypes and final products while optimizing cost, quality, and lead time. In addition to managing the development and timeline of new products, this person will also be on the lookout for new vendors who can help support our product goals. Sound right up your alley?? What you’ll do:

  • Manage multiple key factory relationships for new developments and associated cost negotiations
  • Work closely with designers to create successful development cycles that lead to a high adoption rate for our prototypes
  • Identify new frame vendors and lead associated scouting trips
  • Work with internal teams to understand their product needs from a quality, price, and design perspective
  • Manage the internal and external processes associated with onboarding new frame vendors
  • Work with factories to reduce prototyping and manufacturing lead times
  • Negotiate costs throughout the development process, and work with a keen understanding of the cost tradeoffs within the product
  • Keep all internal and external partners updated on timelines and make sure any pertinent developments are super-clear to them

Who you are:

  • Equipped with 5–7 years of experience
  • An excellent communicator both online and in person
  • Detail-oriented with super-strong  organizational and analytical skills
  • Confident relying on your judgment and past experience to plan and accomplish goals
  • A seasoned, successful project manager
  • Experienced working with Asian manufacturing partners
  • Intermediately proficient in Microsoft, Google Drive, and Adobe applications (for viewing tech drawings, combining files, making edits)
  • Always on top of things and unflappably professional (you’ll be working with external partners, so this is especially important!)

  • Mandarin language skills
  • Eyewear product development experience
