The role:

We are seeking an experienced Operations leader to join Vay as Sr. Fleet Operations Manager

The role will be part of the leadership team in Las Vegas, Vay’s first and critical focus city in the USA, and involves leading a team of 30+ tele-drivers and associated professionals. They would be expected to exceed SLAs and devise new processes and SLAs as Vay scales its fleet. Further, the role would be the principal liaison and SME for internal stakeholders for all things Operations ; they would advise the Director - Operations & Growth on managing Vay’s operations

The responsibilities:

  • Fleet Management: Manage everyday operations of Vay’s B2C business not limited to vehicles, charging, parking, liaising with external stakeholders and coordination for internal and external maintenance
  • Team Management: Managing a team of 30+ tele-drivers , fleet support agents and customer care professionals. Some of the tasks include: shift planning, employee engagement, retention and hiring
  • Process and SLA Management: Be highly objective and exceed SLAs on Safety, Training, Team performance and Operations. Create new processes and SLAs to improve operational efficiencies
  • Cross functional Collaboration and Internal SME: Collaborate internally to coordinate user acceptance tests, system updates and all technological changes that impact operations. Be the internal SME on all things operations

The profile:

  • Experience: 7-10 years of experience in Fleet Management and Operations, Team leadership and Operations process management . Experience with companies in the car-rental, ride-sharing, logistics and aviation is a must. Military experience is a big plus. Extra points for managing EV fleets
  • Industry network and connects: Candidates with strong connections with Kia dealerships, EV charging providers, commercial parking providers in the US South, West and Southwest would be given preference
  • Customer Care: Experience managing customer care teams is a plus
  • Educational Background: Undergraduate education in Operations, Business management
  • Problem-Solving Skills and Process creation: Proven ability to identify and triage problems and build new processes
  • Communication: Strong articulation, communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively and present insights to stakeholders. Knows how to effectively prioritize tasks based on business goals
  • Reporting: Strong reporting skills to keep leadership informed of progress and issues ; knowledge of Excel and Word is a must and knowledge of SQL is a plus 

Desirable experience:

  • Ex-military operations preferred
  • Experience from following industries preferred: Car-rental, Ride-sharing, Commercially active autonomous vehicle companies, Logistics, Aviation
