As an analytics expert in the digital marketing team, you will be integral in the endeavors to scale and optimize the measurement of specific commercial KPIs related to the digital sales channel. This role will be focused on understanding the performance of our digital marketing channels and E-Commerce site and generating insights that drive revenue growth. This unique opportunity will not only require you to utilize various analytical methods, but also exercise your storyteller skills in order to effectively communicate the impact the digital channel is having at driving revenue at Twist. You’ll be collaborating with product management, sales and finance on understanding what our ROI targets and helping to develop the appropriate channel investment mix in specific growth levers designed to improve our KPIs. 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • You will own the measurement of specific KPIs related to customer acquisition and retention, while helping to determine the specific revenue targets and forecasting models attributable to our E-Commerce sales funnel.
  • You will be designing the attribution model for determining the performance and impact of our digital marketing activities and E-Commerce site on the sales funnel
  • You’ll be providing ROI analysis of all our different digital marketing channels and activities.
  • You'll need to be highly proficient working in data warehouses and utilizing data visualization tools as a part of defining and monitoring the team’s KPIs.
  • You’ll be conveying your insights and recommendation by creating concise narratives that will help the commercial and marketing org understand how it’s impacting customer acquisition and retention and what potential growth levers can be pulled by the team to improve conversion rates, increase average order values, decrease the time-to-purchase and repeat purchase and how to efficiently drive more volume through the E-Commerce funnel.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • 5+ Years of experience in business and commercial analytics
  • Experience with designing, building and maintaining business performance dashboards and reports within Tier1 BI and CRM platforms like Tableau and SFDC
  • Understanding on how to track and report on specific KPIs related to customer acquisition (new customers, customer acquisition costs, average 1st order value, etc.), retention (active vs inactive customers, time-to-breakeven, time between orders, repeat order rates, lifetime value, etc.) and ROI (return-on-ads-spend, LTV:CAC, Campaign,  Channel, etc.)
  • Experience with data architecture and modeling best practices, as well as generating requirements for building data models with data warehouses like Snowflake.
  • Track record of successfully developing and delivering dashboards and reports that resulted in improving a business’s effectiveness at improving KPIs that led to the company’s growth.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, specifically in helping business stakeholders understand how specific activities are impacting KPIs
  • Experience collaborating cross functionally with different roles in Commercial, BI and IT departments
  • Eager to work in a company that makes a positive impact in the world.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience using technologies like Salesforce, Google Analytics, Snowflake, and Tableau for tracking and analyzing business data.
  • Experience building visualizations and comfortable working in a Data Warehouse in order to generate data model requirements.
  • Experience measuring ROI on digital marketing activities and marketing website performance

What Sets You Apart

  • Experience executing SQL queries and scripts within a data warehouse (like Snowflake) in order to structure and unify data across multiple sources and tables for dashboard and report building.
  • Experience building complex Tableau workbooks and views to create command center dashboards and reports 
  • Experience creating funnel calculators and forecasting models to determine potential impact of certain growth levers as well as KPI assumptions 
  • Knowledge and passion for Biology.

This role is hybrid and will require 3 days per week in one of our offices.

The base cash compensation for this California-based role is below. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for bonus, equity, and a generous benefits package. Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate skill, experience, expertise, and location and may vary from the amount listed above. Compensation may be different in other locations.
