The Senior Product Marketing Manager will contribute to the growth of Twist’s market position in next generation sequencing (NGS) and synthetic biology product segments. This individual will be responsible for driving product and application-based messaging across Twist’s business units, including core initiatives toward cancer research, drug discovery, and human genetics. Responsibilities will include driving application-based sales trainings and enablements, establishing core messaging by segment, and contributing to strategic awareness channels via digital and commercial pathways.

The Senior Product Marketing Manager position will report to the Director of Product Management. Close partnership with key internal Twist stakeholders including sales, product management, and digital / commercial marketing will be expected. 

The Senior Product Marketing Manager may share responsibility for uncovering and developing and closing opportunities, as well as core revenue and marketing targets.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Scale Twist’s marketing competencies to support revenue growth targets and grow market position.
  • Serve as a core stakeholder with product managers and marketing program managers on new product introductions (NPI) positioning statements and go-to-market execution.
  • Drive outbound messaging and positioning for Twist’s product portfolios in key application areas.
  • Partner with marketing programs and digital marketing teams to execute against regional and global strategic campaigns, participation in external conferences, and other external-facing activities.
  • Evolve product launch and marketing strategies based on core customer segment targets, main product use cases, revenue opportunity, and sales feedback.
  • Unify marketing messaging across sales, digital, and printed marketing channels, including product awareness, customer education, and value positioning.
  • Work collaboratively with our digital marketing team to develop content for refreshed website, online commerce, and other channels.
  • Generate and drive sales enablement capabilities, including contribution to sales trainings, sales tools, and customer.
  • Partner with sales to solicit and pitch Twist capabilities (presentations), competencies and offerings (with support of Twist scientific resource) to strategically important potential new collaborators and partners.
  • Support the creation of a wide variety of customized sales tools and marketing collateral to use with prospective customers.
  • Develop strong working relationships with subject matter experts and principal investigators throughout Twist; assign and coordinate tasks to more qualified co-workers involved in the pursuit of each opportunity.
  • Collect and analyze market and financial data to establish and present compelling business cases for customers, collaborators and partnerships.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Must be willing to travel ~25% for conferences, internal meetings, and customer interactions.
  • Requires a master’s degree in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry or related field, or the equivalent knowledge and experience. A PhD degree is desirable.
  • Requires a minimal of 5+ years in genomics, synthetic biology, or drug development.
  • A background in product management, R&D or marketing is preferred.

The base cash compensation for this California-based role is below. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for bonus, equity, and a generous benefits package. Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate skill, experience, expertise, and location and may vary from the amount listed above. Compensation may be different in other locations.
