Developer Relations@Truecaller 

The Developer Relations organization at Truecaller helps us to be connected and be engaged with 3rd party developers/startups that loves and leverages technology to build high growth consumer focused products.

Our focus at Developer Relations at Truecaller is on evangelizing, collaborating and supporting third party developers to build, enhance their products and businesses with Truecaller’s developer products and platform. This team act as advocates for Truecaller’s products and technologies for the external ecosystem, recruits active developers on Truecaller’s platform and are also vocal champions for developer interests within Truecaller.

Role Summary

The Developer Relations Manager - India role is part of Truecaller for Developers-the global developer platform and relations Business Unit which is a high growth and strategic function at Truecaller. This specific role is responsible for focusing on building and scaling productive engagements with 3rd party developers in India who are building or have built their products on mobile and web platforms by adopting Truecaller’s mobile identity based platform.

The 3rd party developers would comprise of top developers, online focused brands, startups and long tail developers.

The Developer Relations Manager(India) would also work in close collaboration with fellow colleagues within developer relations & outreach and other cross functional teams like product and engineering, partnerships, sales, marketing & PR, analytics etc. to achieve the goals of Truecaller for Developers Business Unit and in alignment to key organization goals.

In this role and as per the current organization structure He/She will report directly to Director & Global Head of Developer Platform & Relations. The position will be based out of Bangalore in India. Travelling for business will be required as and when needed across locations and our focus markets within India where 3rd party developer and startup communities are based.

Purpose

To evangelise, activate and scale a collaborative 3rd party developer and startup ecosystem centered around the Truecaller platform.

Responsibilities

Core developer relations efforts to recruit top and high potential and growing developers, startups to adopt Truecaller’s developer focused products starting with Truecaller SDK for login/verification to products around mobile payments and communications and other related solutions that may come in future in a timely manner

Help in growing and scaling adoption of developer products within potential and existing 3rd party developer partners

Align and deliver on the aggressive yet realistic business goals set for Developer Relations team from time to time

Share product feedbacks, new use cases from developers with internal developer focused product teams to continue to evolve Truecaller’s developer products to lead the industry in terms of product merit and adoption

Spot and share competitive trends and insights and recommendations from the local developer ecosystem within the organization

Agile and quick in pitching, supporting needs of developers during onboarding, integrations and go live cycles. Overall helps in maintaining a high level of developer experience on Truecaller’s developer relations initiatives

Work in tandem with developer outreach and marketing teams to identity and execute win-win PR, co-marketing and thought leadership initiatives with select and strategic developers or brands or startup partners who have done impactful adoption of Truecaller’s developer products 

Explore potential cross pollinate opportunities that may arise in the developer engagements and collaboratively work with appropriate cross functional teams to help Truecaller position and deploy other relevant products from the stack

Needed competencies/experience

Good understanding of the Truecaller core product and its business offerings

5 plus years of proven track record in business development, evangelization & building digital/mobile product integration based ecosystem partnerships

Good Experience in working and connects with the Indian developer, mobile and startup ecosystem

Can understand and contribute to technical conversations, excellent demos on the product with external developers and internal stakeholders at all levels 

Entrepreneurial traits, proactive approach, good team player and Start-up experience

Ability to visualize opportunities, challenges and solutions holistically

Personality 

Self-starter, motivated and fast learner. Not the one to take “NO” for an answer

Good listening skills and receptive to suggestions, view points from others in the organization

Very High level of integrity and a constructive team player o Excellent presentation & communication skills with pleasing personality
