Samsara is seeking a talented Proposal Analyst interested in helping steer a fast-growing IoT startup. Working closely with a senior management team that has successfully built and exited a billion-dollar business, you will help grow and scale our proposal efforts to have a direct impact on the success of our sales team. We are seeking people with a passion for helping others and who are eager to take on a variety of projects in a dynamic environment. Proven analytical, project management, and communication skills are required. The ideal candidate is excited to work on proposal strategy one day and write proposals the next day, all with an eye towards scaling out Samsara’s proposal capabilities. This position is based in our San Francisco HQ location and reports to the Director, Sales Operations.
This is a highly collaborative role where you will work with other stakeholders to:
Define what a world class proposal process look like at Samsara, from pre-solicitation to final response of the most complex proposals
Work with experienced proposal writers to develop proposals for Samsara’s largest customers that unlock the growth of our sales team.
Work cross-functionally with subject matter experts and account executives to define proposal process and strategy as we continue to scale
Take ownership and responsibility for the end-to-end RFP process
Lead overall proposal strategy and deliverables – end to end
Work cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Product, Engineering, and Legal teams
Develop robust and repeatable RFP processes; identifying process improvement and sales training opportunities
Help develop proposal writers capabilities to further meet the needs of the Sales team
Manage the relationships to develop a repository of proposal content.
Develop and deliver management reports that synthesize the effectiveness of the pursuit process and its impact on deals. Use techniques such as formal post-deal debriefs and internal/external surveys to identify best practices and areas for refinement
A Bachelor’s degree (Technical Writing, Business Strategy, English, Communications, Marketing, or related disciplines). Advanced degree a plus
Project Management skills
Demonstrated technical and analytical writing skills
Self-starter with the ability to function independently and in a timely manner
Understanding of government procurement vehicles a plus
