Samsara is seeking an applied machine learning engineer to join our San Francisco-based team. We build systems that utilize and integrate several kinds of sensor data(cameras, gps, accelerometer, vehicle obd, etc.) to improve efficiency and increase safety for our fleet customers. Our primary focus is building features for our intelligent dual-facing dashcam product.
In this role you will design and develop the machine learning models and infrastructure that power Samsara's intelligence features. You will work on a small team to identify solutions to product problems and build out the necessary end-to-end supporting systems. This team builds software for both our cloud platform and edge devices. Sample applications include ADAS algorithms such as lane-departure detection or time-to-collision estimation, activity recognition for distracted driving, automatic camera calibration, and detecting anomalies in time-series sensor data.
You might work on:
Retraining or optimizing open-source models to solve Samsara-specific problems,
Building the backend or edge infrastructure to scale our training and inference workload,
Building the customer-facing components of a vision or ML feature
