The Senior Windows/Network Systems Administrator is responsible for the architecture, design, and support of our Windows and network infrastructure.  On the Windows end, you will evolve our Active Directory and Windows-based systems to become best-in-class, including the areas of identity management, group and OU organizations, security, and operational efficiency in the forms of self-service and automations.  On the network end, you will establish sound, secure, and scalable design and practices at all 7 layers of the OSI model, including firewalls, switches, routers, voice systems, circuits (data and voice), etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, automation and configuration management.
  • Manages tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment, driving all issues to resolution with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and efficient task execution.
  • Architect and design global Active Directory services including group policies (GPOs), identity management, forest domains, ADFS, etc.
  • Be the escalation point for Tier 2/3 IT issues and drive through to resolution.  
  • Engage with cross-team peers to ensure services  are implemented in ways that meet requirements and align with our strategy.
  • Manage centralized administration and integration of Windows-based services such as Antivirus, OS Deployment, software installation, group policies, inventory, patching and routine maintenance.
  • Improve operational efficiency, including but not limited to, self-service for our employees and automated deployment of systems and user creation(s).
  • Coordinate problem resolution with vendors. Maintain communications with internal / external during the problem resolution process. 
  • Create project plans, KBs, document internal procedures and processes.
  • Design networking-focused WAN and LAN-based services in accordance with best practices from edge through access layers.
  • Administer and configure firewalls, VPN gateways, routers, switches, and voice systems with security and scalability in mind.
  • Experience with information security technologies like, event log management, intrusion detection, anti-virus, vulnerability assessments.
  • Maintain backup and disaster recovery practices.
  • Manage partner/vendor towards a win-win relationship.
  • Mentor team members in Windows technologies and advanced troubleshooting methods.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS in a technology discipline or equivalent with 5 - 7 years of experience in supporting enterprise level Windows and network environment is required.
  • Solid background with Windows Servers, Windows Active Directory, Windows Client (Windows 10).
  • Solid background with networking (routing, switching, security, and telephony).
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently; customer service and organizational skills are required.
  • Good background with AD management of Windows clients, MacOS and Linux.
  • Proficient understanding with troubleshooting and problem solving of IT services including: Active Directory, Group Policies, FSMO, DHCP, DNS, NPS, SSO Integration, LDAP, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VPN, WIFI technology, Security, Virtualization (Hyper-V), and ADFS.
  • Experience writing shell scripts and scripting languages such as Powershell, Python.
  • Experience with information security technologies like, event log management, intrusion detection, anti-virus, vulnerability assessments.
  • Must be able to work closely with end users, understand business processes and work effectively with cross functional teams.
  • Maybe be required to be on call 24x7 to support incidents.
  • Be available off hours for scheduled system maintenance and emergencies.
  • Solid verbal, written and interpersonal communication, customer service and organizational skills are required.
  • Applicants must be a US citizen and/or green card holder.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with GSuite and integrations, UNIX, Zabbix, JIRA, and Confluence are pluses.
  • Familiarity with NIST 800-171 and CMMC is desired.
