You’ll be joining Reddit’s Apps Infrastructure team. We are a platform engineering team that works on the underlying platform in which world-class features are based on. Our engineers are based in Reddit’s San Francisco office.

Mobile makes up more than half of Reddit’s traffic, and as Apps Infra’s Android engineer, you will help architect and direct the future of the Reddit Android codebase. 


  • Recognize, validate, and evangelize technologies and architectures that align with business objectives
  • Improve the performance and stability of our most critical features
  • Work with product owners to identify gaps in platform functionality
  • Maintain and prioritize platform architecture backlog
  • Guide and build the technical foundations that will bring Reddit’s Android app into the future
  • Coach and mentor technical leads / engineers on design principles and skills


  • Expertise in Java or Kotlin with 5+ years of Android experience
  • Sound software engineering fundamentals
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Passion for developing scalable, well-designed software that improves people’s lives globally
  • Experience building at least one amazing Android app with a team from start to shipment
