Job Description

The VP of Commercial provides leadership and direction to Quantum-Si’s commercial and marketing function.  In this role, you will be accountable for the overall sales organization performance, profitable achievement of sales organization goals and for aligning sales objectives with the business strategy. You must have a deep love for working in a fast-paced startup environment, transitioning the business from pre-commercial to fully transactional, and are comfortable with rolling up your sleeves to contribute in any capacity required.

As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be: 

  • Oversee Quantum-Si’s go to market and product positioning strategy.
  • Aligns the sales organization’s objectives with business strategy through active participation in corporate strategic planning, sales strategy development, forecasting, setting metrics, sales resource planning, incentive plan development, and budgeting.
  • Partner with operations and marketing to design and deploy a pipeline generation strategy, sales playbooks, and best practices.
  • Accountable for effective sales organization design, including sales job roles, sales channel design, and sales resource deployment.  
  • Grow and manage a team of sales professionals including customer support, customer service, and marketing.
  • Monitor and track customer feedback for new product lines, satisfaction, and customer retention improvements. 
  • Work with Finance and Product/Marketing to ensure successful product launches
  • Provide support in the area of marketing strategy and management, develop the annual marketing plan and strategies, tactics and resources needed to achieve goals.
  • Develop a strong team that includes coaching, mentoring and developing professionals.

Qualifications

Baseline skills/experiences/attributes:

  • Ability to travel 25% of the time to visit key customers and the Quantum-Si offices globally. 
  • Bachelor's degree in business, life sciences or other similar field.  MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior sales and/or marketing management role.
  • Experience working with key opinion leaders in proteomics, genomics or life sciences.
  • Deep understanding of proteomics technologies and competitive landscape is highly desirable
  • Experience with Salesforce.com.
  • Strong experience with sales forecasting in detail and ensuring that appropriate resources are available to achieve targets. 
  • Excellent communication skills including listening to our customers.
  • Ability to understand people and positively influence them.
  • Ability to understand competitor strategies, products and pricing patterns.
  • Knowledge in financial analysis and establishing sales and marketing budgets and action plans.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to change, mentor and motivate others.
