We are seeking a Head of Scientific Affairs to help lead our scientific business strategies and relationships for Quantum-Si. You will report to the Chief Commercial Officer. A successful candidate will have an enthusiastic, entrepreneurial work ethic. This person will work closely with customers, product managers, market development, marketing, sales, service, and R&D.

 

As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be:

Market Development:

  • Collaborate with Product team and Key Leadership to identify and prioritize areas for market development, considering market opportunities and end customer needs, but also big picture ideas.
  • Define a comprehensive strategy ensuring that our products are widely adopted and endorsed within the scientific community into these markets.

Strategic Partnerships:

  • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including research institutions, universities, and industry experts.
  • Develop plan to engage with and get working with our technology.
  • Foster collaboration to drive scientific advancements, leveraging external expertise to enhance our technology capabilities and position in the market.

Coordination and collaboration:

  • Facilitate and coordinate research projects, ensuring their timely execution and delivery. Project Manage the program with each account and milestones to deliver credible data and output to build evangelists for our platform.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external partners to align research objectives with market / business goals

Communications:

  • Develop an outbound communication plan in collaboration with the Marketing team to effectively promote our scientific work.
  • Ensure that our achievements and advancements are communicated to the target audience, enhancing our visibility within the scientific community.


Scientific Advocacy:

  • Define and implement plans for participating in scientific forums, conferences, and collaborations.
  • Enhance visibility and promote our scientific initiatives and successful partnerships, positioning our company as a leader in protein sequencing, omics, and related fields.

 
Strategic Contribution:

  • Support the overall product strategy by contributing big picture ideas about the market that are gleaned from thought leaders in our space
  • Maintain a forward-thinking approach to position QSI ahead of the competition, ensuring market leadership in areas such as protein sequencing and omics.

Qualifications

Baseline skills/experiences/attributes:

  • PhD degree in life sciences or biomedical engineering
  • 10 or more years of scientific business experience for life science platform companies in proteomics, molecular biology or DNA sequencing markets (e.g. field application scientists, product managers)
  • Strong technical understanding of proteomics market and applications.
  • Strong business acumen and communication.
  • Experience building strong relationships/partnerships with KOLs and industry leaders. and
  • Experience working with cross-functional departments in sales, marketing, service, assay development, engineering, and software development.
  • Strong time and project management skills.
  • Thrives in a startup, rapidly growing, company environment. Can pivot when necessary and stay positive.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, great computer skills.
  • Take initiative and have a strong growth mindset.
  • Ability to travel 40% - San Francisco, San Diego and Boston areas for home base preferred.

The estimated base salary range for this role based in the United States of America is: $220,000 - $300,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, level of the position, an individual’s skills, knowledge and abilities, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all full-time employees are eligible for our discretionary bonus program and equity as part of the compensation package.
