About the Role

Pursuit is seeking a Head of Product for our Employer Services function to further develop and grow the Employer Services product, a revenue generating service that matches Fellows with partner organizations and provides an employee retention service along with strategic cultural initiatives for the company. Our product is in its early stages of development, having developed successful partnerships with leading companies including: Blackstone, Uber, Citi, Union Square Ventures portfolio companies, etc through which we’ve employed nearly 100 Fellows over the past three years. We are looking for a strategic leader to refine the product and develop its value proposition to our customers to further drive renewals and growth. Reporting to the GM, Enterprise,  Thomas Voute, this role entails crafting short-term business models and long-term scaling strategies. This opportunity presents a unique chance to apply your product and business acumen towards growing our for–profit, private market solution to employer and societal challenges. Pursuit’s broader goal is to bridge the opportunity divide while improving the talent pool for America’s leading companies. As Head of Product for Employer Services you will have the ability to directly shape and scale our mission to change the nature of employment.  

 

As a Head of Product, Employer Services you will: 

  • Define the Employer Services products, their naming conventions and their value propositions for all stakeholders, including employers, investors, learners, etc
  • Design a pricing model that fuels revenue growth in line with market demand and product positioning.
  • Develop and generate buy-in with internal and external stakeholders for a long term strategic direction of the Employer Services product.
  • Lead the strategic roadmap to position Employer Services for scale, including expansion beyond the Pursuit Fellowship (perhaps by including other employees or their hiring managers) .
  • Design the end-to-end customer/learner experiences 
  • Build strategy around the tools and platforms needed to enable stakeholders to effectively manage workflows both internally and externally.
  • Drive the product/service as a registered apprenticeship to enable business goals around funding, legislation, and enterprise sales. 
  • Develop specialized tracks of the product for companies (e.g. Cybersecurity, Web3, AI) to achieve industry-specific product market fit and foster strong partnerships that position Pursuit as leaders in the space. 

What you need to be considered for Head of Product, Employer Services role: 

  • 12+ years working in a variety of commercial entities with demonstrated ability to develop and execute product strategies focused on delivering value to customers and driving growth.
  • Strong understanding of business principles, including market-centric and employer-centric approaches, pricing structures, and revenue generation.
  • Experience driving product strategy within startup settings to achieve precise product-market alignment.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to develop models and roadmaps to navigate ambiguity.
  • Proven track record of effectively engaging and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to generate buy-in and support for strategic initiatives.
  • Experience across various industries and employer types, with an understanding of factors influencing decision-making.
  • Ability to balance short-term outcomes management with long-term strategic and abstract planning.
  • Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and contribute to a new function with a “roll up your sleeves” attitude
  • Excitement about Pursuit’s mission and leveraging product and business strategies for social impact and to change traditional hiring models.

 

Where you’ll work: 

  • On site in our Long Island City office 4 days a week (M -Th)

Salary & Benefits:

The expected salary range for this role is $180,000 - $230,000 base + incentive compensation.

The compensation range above is for the expectations as laid out in the job description, however, we are often open to a wide variety of profiles and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted.  If that ends up being the case, the updated salary range will be communicated to you as a candidate.
