This person must be able to work evening shift or 2nd shift (3-12am Eastern Time).

ON A TYPICAL DAY YOU’LL

  • Respond to incoming support phone calls, emails, and tickets promptly.
  • Log all troubleshooting communication in Pilot's proprietary help desk system.
  • Collaborate with other teams to improve network designs, solutions, and policies.
  • Develop standards and best practices for Pilot network infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot networking, routing, LAN/WAN and interconnectivity problems, including network hardware issues.
  • Respond to emergency outages and work with Construction and Fiber Operations to communicate timely updates to customers.
  • Provide technical answers and resources to other Pilot departments.
  • Troubleshoot network capacity such as dark fiber, wavelengths, peering, and transit.
  • Act as a point of escalation for large network needs and unknown issues presented by support.
  • Document and perform maintenances for upgrades to our Network and core equipment when needed.
  • Quickly and accurately escalate issues that require senior leadership.

WHAT MAKES THIS REMOTE ROLE DIFFERENT

  • You’ll be the first responder for all support calls, emails, and tickets.
  • You’ll be the point person for upholding our SLA 15 minute response time during your assigned hours.
  • You’ll check in regularly with updates to your Manager on daily progress.
  • You’ll attend all scheduled meetings via video call with camera on.
  • You’ll communicate in advance any changes to your schedule or plans to be away from your desk.
  • You’ll provide your own quiet desk space to perform your role fully without interruption.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • A strong communicator who responds quickly and proactively updates Management with daily progress updates.
  • Someone with a thorough understanding of TCP/IP and experience configuring and troubleshooting IP routing/switching technologies and protocols like BGP, ISIS, and MPLS
  • Experience with Juniper network hardware platforms
  • Understanding of internet routing and network interconnection
  • Preferred experience working with an Internet service provider or large enterprise
  • Preferred experience in VoIP or Telecom
  • Plus to have knowledge of wireless and fixed wireless systems
  • Strong organizational experience and ability to communicate to both internal and external stakeholders
