Key Responsibilities
● Setting up and maintaining Windows-based servers, workstations, and networks to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
● Leveraging automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) to streamline routine tasks, enhance efficiency, and reduce manual intervention.
● Implementing and monitoring security protocols, including access controls, firewalls, and antivirus software, to safeguard sensitive financial data.
● Managing software installations, updates, and patches across the Windows environment while ensuring compliance with licensing and security requirements.
● Based on monitoring system performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing optimisations to maintain peak efficiency.
● Developing and maintaining robust backup and disaster recovery solutions to protect critical financial data and ensure business continuity.
● Maintaining detailed documentation of system configurations, automation scripts, and procedures for knowledge sharing and compliance purposes. CMDB maintenance.
● Ensuring that all Windows systems and configurations meet regulatory compliance standards and participating in audits as necessary.
● Collaborating with cross-functional teams (Monitoring, Security, DevOps, DBA and others) to integrate Windows-based solutions into our fintech services and contributing to technology-driven innovations.
● Incident resolution.
Skills/Competences
● Proficiency in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Windows Server operating systems. Experience with server roles (AD, DNS, NPS, RDS, CA, IIS, File Server, Print Server, WSUS).
● Experience in MSSQL administration (Backup, cluster configuration and maintenance)
● Strong knowledge of automation tools and scripting languages, particularly PowerShell, to automate routine tasks and streamline system management processes.
● Experience in managing and maintaining Active Directory services, including group policies, and domain controllers.
● Extensive experience with e-mail services (Exchange, Google Workspace)
● Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN configurations to manage network connectivity and resolve network-related issues.
● Familiarity with security best practices, including firewall management, antivirus solutions, and intrusion detection systems, to protect against cyber threats.
● Proficiency in maintaining backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
● Knowledge of server hardware components and the ability to perform hardware upgrades, repairs, and maintenance as needed.
● Skills to monitor system performance using monitoring tools and take proactive measures to optimise resource utilisation.
● Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly, minimising downtime and disruptions.
● Excellent documentation skills to maintain accurate records of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. ● Maintaining CMDB.
● Understanding of regulatory compliance standards, such as GDPR or PCI DSS, and the ability to ensure systems meet these requirements.
