We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Data Analyst/Lead to join our FP&A team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial analysis, data interpretation, and data visualization, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to provide actionable insights for decision-making. The Finance Data Analyst/Lead will be responsible for FP&A Gross Margin Reporting, hence the role will suit someone who is comfortable with large datasets but also commercially focussed and can turn them into meaningful financial information.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Analysis and Visualization
- Gather, clean, and analyze transactional/financial data from multiple sources including internal databases, accounting systems, ERP software etc.
- Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in financial data to support business insights.
- Provide ad-hoc reporting/analysis and present data-driven insights in a clear and understandable format to stakeholders at various levels.
- Create and maintain interactive dashboards using tools like Metabase, Superset, or Excel to visualize key financial data and performance indicators.
2. Business Performance Support
- Identify trends, patterns, and areas of opportunity that can improve revenue generation or bring cost-efficiency
- Work closely with commercial and product teams to align not only on data initiatives but also provide support in pricing decisions based on the data insights.
- We are currently in the process of automating our Gross Margin reporting, however there are still many manual processes. The role is required to be able to spot any data errors and issues on revenue/cost of sales calculations.
3. Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline financial data collection and analysis processes
- Assist in automating financial reporting and enhancing data integrity.
- Work closely with Data Engineers to stay abreast of changes in data infrastructure and reflect them appropriately in FP&A reports
- Assist in automation of revenue and fee calculation, which is currently largely manual.
4. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product, Operations, Accounting and other teams to gather financial data and ensure alignment on financial goals.
- Support strategic decision-making with data-driven insights that improve overall financial performance.
Key Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Science, or a related field. ACCA or an MBA would be a plus
- 3-4 years of experience in financial analysis, data analysis, or a related role, ideally within a startup/scaleup. Payments industry experience would be a bonus.
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, etc.).
- Experience with financial analysis, visualization tools and platforms (e.g. Metabase, Superset, SQL etc.).
- Familiarity with ERP systems and data management software.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.

- Ability to present complex financial data in a clear, concise, and actionable manner.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with non-financial stakeholders
