Job Summary  
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Manager of Data Visualization and Reporting. In this role, you will lead a development team around data visualization and report objects for internal and external customers. We will also be looking to move the needle on incorporating LLM’s into the reporting space.  All of this will assist our community in building compelling narratives and actionable insights enabling stakeholders to extract maximum value from our data assets. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead strategic initiatives and shape the future of data visualization and reporting within our organization. 

 

What You’ll Do  

Strategic Leadership 

  • Lead and mentor a team of data visualization and reporting specialists, providing guidance and direction to drive excellence in performance and outcomes. 
  • Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for data visualization and reporting initiatives, aligning with organizational goals and priorities. 
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in data visualization and reporting. 
  • Drive continuous innovation and improvement. 

Visualization and Reporting LLM Integration 

  • Collaborate with data scientists and LLM experts to integrate LLM capabilities into data visualization and reporting where applicable. 
  • Explore and leverage LLM-generated insights to enhance storytelling and narrative development in reports and visualizations. 

Data Visualization & Report Development 

  • Guide team on building and effective and consistent UI 
  • Oversee the design and development of interactive and engaging data visualizations and report using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or custom visualization libraries. 
  • Ensure adherence to best practices, including principles of clarity, accuracy, and effectiveness. 
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate. 
  • Drive the development of insightful and actionable reports that provide valuable insights into key business metrics, trends, and performance indicators. 
  • Implement robust frameworks and processes to ensure consistency, accuracy, and reliability of reports/visualizations. 
  • Establish KPIs and metrics to measure the effectiveness and impact of reporting initiatives, continuously optimizing performance and outcomes.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Drive culture of storytelling through data 
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business leaders, analysts, and data scientists, to understand information needs and deliver impactful insights. 
  • Trusted advisor providing guidance on data visualization and reporting best practices. 
  • Champion a data-driven culture within the organization, promoting the value of data visualization and reporting in driving informed decision-making. 
  • Develop strategies to effectively communicate technologies needed to drive insights to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner. 
  • Drive continuous improvement and governance in the visualization and reporting space. 

What We Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field. 
  • 6+ years of professional experience in data visualization, reporting, or business intelligence
  • 2+ years of leading data focused teams 
  • Proven experience as a leader within data visualization, reporting, or business intelligence. 
  • Understanding of how Language Models (LLMs) operate and their applications in data visualization and reporting. 
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences. 
  • Experience with agile methodologies and project management practices. 

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with sales and customer service teams in healthcare
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and data mining techniques
